Project

Eklavya

Can  Sania  and  Uma  be  in  the  same  class?

Page 2: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

India  is  the  world’s  largest

democracy  and  one  of  the  fastest  growing  nations  in  the  world

Page 3: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

While  we  are  making  strides  in  many  areas,

we  still  lack  behind  in  many  more

Page 4: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

We  have  some  great  policies    but  fall  behind  due  to  poor  implementation

Page 5: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

How  long  can  we  continue  to  wait  for  the  government  to  deliver?

It's  time  to  take  ownership  of  our  problems

Page 6: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

Indus  Action  is  striving  hard  to  bridge  the  policy  implementation  gap

Page 7: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

by  bringing  in  innovative  ideas  to  build  scalable  models

Page 8: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

Last  year  we  ran  a  successful  pilot  campaign    and  understood  the  ground  reality

Page 9: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

This  year  Project  Eklavya  aims  to  make  atleast  10k  applications  from  all  over  Delhi  to  fill  the  25%  free

seats  under  RTE  Section  12

Page 10: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

Let  us  try  to  understand  the  problem  first

Page 11: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

25%  seats  in  all  private  schools  are  available  for  free  for  economically  weak  and  disadvantaged  kids*

Page 12: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

but  less  than  10%  eligible  families  are  aware  of  it

Page 13: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

to  solve  this  we  just  need  to  provide    Right  Information  to  the    Right  Person  and  at  the    Right  Time

Page 14: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

Indus  Action  cannot  reach  every  eligible  family  on  its  own

Page 15: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

but  together  we  can

Page 16: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

The  only  question  remains

Page 17: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

We  have  identified  not  one  but  three  easy  ways

1) Reaching  out  low  income  housing  communities

2) Engaging  their  employers

3) Empowering  high  income  individuals

Page 18: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

Model  1

Page 20: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

to  engage  them  to  become  community  champions

Page 21: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

and  identify  information  hubs  to  spread  awareness

Page 22: Indus Action - Project Eklavya, Campaign 2014-15

to  ensure  that  every  parent  is  aware  of  of  their  child’s  right  to  education  and  the  procedures  to  realize  it
