Bandung is the capital of West Java province in Indonesia, and the country's third largest city, and 2nd largest metropolitans area, with 7.4 million people live. Located 768 m (2,520 ft) above sea level. Bandung has cooler temperatures year-around than most other Indonesian cities. The city surrounded by volcanic mountains. A good natural defense system, which was the primary reason for the Dutch EastIndies government's planned to move the colony capital from Batavia (Jakarta) to Bandung.

Villa Isola (now Bumi Siliwangi) is an art-deco building in the northern part of Bandung, the capital of West Java province of Indonesia. Overlooking the valley with the view of the city, Villa Isola was completed in 1933 by the Dutch architect Wolf Schoemaker.

Gedung Sate, is a neo-classical building mixed with native elements that now serves as the governor's office of the West Java province in Indonesia. The building was designed by a Dutch architect J. Gerber.
Its common name, Gedung sate, is nick name that translates literally from Indonesia to 'kebab building', which is a reference to the shape of the building's central flag pole.
