What Is Humanities?

MYP individuals and societies incorporates disciplines traditionally studied under the general term “the humanities” (such as history and philosophy), as well as disciplines in the social sciences (such as economics, business management, geography, sociology and political science).

At Global Jaya School, the individuals and societies subject group classes are taught as “Humanities”. Humanities is an integrated course that incorporates multiple disciplinary perspectives, including history, geography, politics and economics.

In Year 10 Humanities, students study “module” units specifically for History, Psychology, Economics, and Business. Each module is taught by a specialist teacher. At the end of each semester, students receive a single grade for their achievement in Humanities including all the units covered.
