    I. Introduction

    In our life, we have to face many difficulties. They make us in the uncomfortable and tired

    situation. When I was a child, I do not know exactly what is stress? , why do people get

    stressed? . In my individual research, I want to mention the common issue stress. There are

    many different ideas about it, how it effect on them and many ways to solve this problem.

    II. W hat is stress? and Stress in my life

    In the psychology theories, the term of stress has been defined in many different ways. I read

    a definition that is stress as any circumstances that threaten or are perceived to threaten ones

    well-being and that thereby tax ones coping abilities. We also understand in the easier way:

    Stress (psychology), an unpleasant state of emotional and physiological arousal that people

    experience in situations that they perceive as dangerous or threatening to their well-being. The

    word stress means different things to different people. Some people define stress as events or

    situations that cause them to feel tension, pressure, or negative emotions such as anxiety and

    anger.

    Stress is common experience. I believe that everyone has stress, rather they admit to it or not. In

    psychology, stress is divided in to four major types: frustration, change, conflict and pressure.

    However, in the normal life, we can understand it more simply by several following examples.

    We may feel stress when we are very busy, have important deadlines to meet, or have too little

    time to finish all of our tasks. Many people suffer from different stress issues because of problem

    at work, or social relationships such as poor evaluations by lecture or supervisors, argument with

    friends or family. Some people may be participated in stress when they meet situations involving

    the threat of failure or human personalities. Others have extreme fears of things relating the

    physical threats such as illness, storms, or lions, mouse become stressed when they meet and

    think about these. Major life event, like love shock or death of a loved one can cause serious

    stress.

    As I explained above, stress is very common individual reaction. I can get stress all the time.

    However, after reading book, listening to my friends presentation and the lecture in class, I

    really want to choose Stress as my topic. From the knowledge that I received, I understand

    clearly what types of stress I have. Relying on that, I can control my stress at present and the

    future.

    The reason for my stress is study, family and love. The most stressful situation I have as a

    student is studying in an International school. It is pressure stress. Many people claim that it is a

    normal thing, but with me, it is so hard. When I was a freshman student, I kept thinking Why I

    have to study in here? Why I do not try a little to take university exam one more time? My

    family is not rich while my school fee is too high about $ 1100 per semester. However, after my

    acquaintances advices, it is become the right and good choice for me. Therefore, I always have

    to remind myself that I can not fail any subject. It is very terrible. When the exam comes, I

    always get stressed when I study and take the exam. Before having an exam, my heart is racing

    fast and I have stomachache. I force myself to study hard and try to achieve the good result.

    However, I think it can be a positive stress, even I may have headache, but I can obtain the result

    I want.

    Family is second thing that cause many stress for me. It is considered as Change stress. When

    my parent divorced, the complex relationship between my father and my mother makes me feel

    tired. Both of them have their new own family. They hate each other and do not want to meet or

    talk anymore. Furthermore, when I live in my current family, I am as an abandoned child. For

    example : if I make a mistake even a small mistake, my step- father or my mother can give me a

    serious scolding while with the same mistake, they can forgive easily for my cousins or someone

    else. I know they want to teach me but it make me stressful and very tired at home. My friends

    always receive awards or good evaluations from their parents when they pass all subjects. In my

    family, this is a mission, a task that I do not have the right to fail, I must pass all subjects. My

    mothers thoughts become my stress.

    The last one is love. I am proud of my boy- friend who is very intelligent, handsome and kind.

    We share many things involving sadness and happiness, and try to keep the long term

    relationship with each other. However, just our effort is not enough. We meet many difficulties

    such as our family, our distance and our thinking about life. Our parents oppose strongly and

    openly. They claim that we are not suitable for each other because of Vietnamese astrology.

    Since, he went aboard and decided to live in Moscow , Russia , we have only met in the

    traditional Tet holiday or Christmas holiday about one or two weeks per year. In addition, I also

    get stressed with the complex relationship with other girls of my boy- friends in Russia. He never

    explains clearly about these and just says it is a normal relationship. May be I have the old

    thinking while my lover has more modern thoughts. I want to both continue our relationship and

    obey our parent. And I know I am at the Approach- approach conflict.

    After researching and my experiences, I see that stress bring both sides: positive and negative

    side. Positive stress or negative stress, stress can be fantastic or fatal, it all depends on us. Stress

    is a normal, adaptive reaction to threat. It signals danger and prepares us to take defensive action.

    Fear of things that pose realistic threats motivates us to deal with them or avoid them. Stress also

    motivates us to achieve and increase creativity. Although stress may delay performance on

    difficult tasks, reasonable stress seems to improve motivation and performance on less complex

    tasks. In personal relationships, stress often leads to less cooperation and more aggression. If not

    managed suitably, stress can lead to serious problems. Exposure to chronic stress can contribute

    to both physical illnesses, such as heart disease, and mental illnesses, such as anxiety disorders.

    The field of health psychology focuses in part on how stress affects bodily functioning and on

    how people can use stress management techniques to prevent or minimize disease. For example:

    the hard university programs that make me feel stressful are a positive stress. I think that in the

    future, when I go to work, I can suffer more serious stress than now, so I need to practice and

    learn to work hard. Stress can be the motivation to help me study hard at present, and make me

    work efficiently in future. However, most stress makes me really anger and upset and I feel

    really tired. I know that if I am in stress situation, I can do nothing good, even; it leads a lot of

    disadvantage to me. For instance: I can be illness or I have argument with people around me. In

    addition, some stresses can make me less confident among other. Or stress makes my beath , my

    heart racing fast , my stomach become very hurt. Stress affects many different people many

    different ways, stress can get very frustrating. And I need to reduce my stress and learn how to

    handle it because I know when I go to work and have my own family in the future, I will have

    more serious stress than now. At the first time, I think I have to control my anger and do not

    allow myself to waste thought and energy where it isn't deserved. Then, one most common thing

    that helps me feel less stressed is having the good nutrition. I try to eat a lot of delicious foods

    and stay away from junk food. I know it is also important to get enough sleep. I try to get a good

    night sleep each night. Exercise is another way to reduce stress. Shopping with close friend and

    chatting with them also make me feel good. However, I still have to careful when shopping

    because spending more money also causes many stresses. Furthermore, I think I should have

    more relaxed time for hobbies and interested when I get stressed. There are many ways to

    control stress such as practice yoga In the future, I definitely study yoga to control my

    feelings.

    III. Conclusion

    In conclusion, from my thoughts and my experiences, stress is the object I can not avoid

    because many things around my life may cause it. However, if I understand it clearly, I can know

    what stress I face and know the way how to deal, manage my stress.
