Established in 1972 ADAPT® has since developed into one of the leading manufac-turers of electrical connections all over Europe. With more than 280 employees we develop and manufacture most of the products individually according to the specifi-cations from our customers.

This ranges from conventional round cable tailoring, customer-specific molding assemblies, FCC technology to component group manufacturing.

ADAPT® analyses the task, develops prototypes close to serial production quality and after having implemented all specifications produces high quality components for small, medium or large scale serial production. Due to established partnerships, ADAPT® is capable of procuring all types of connectors of the required quality com-bined to achieve the desired solution. Requirements are specified by the customer whilst ADAPT® is determining an individual solution.

CRIMPINGDifferent crimping processes for foil crimping.

The crimping technique is the most common used connection technology for wires. Crimping is a mechanical connection technology. In the joining process each wire is linked together through plastic deformation in the crimp-zone of the contact element. Crimp connections ensure high electrical and mecha-nical reliability. In the range of conventional round cable assem-blies all common crimping technologies and systems can be processed. Foil cable (FFC cable with flat copper conductor) in a pitch of 1.27 mm and 2.54 mm can be crimped.

LAMINATION During the lamination process, flat copper conductors are covered between upper and lower insulation foil by pres-sure and temperature. The insulation foils are one-sidedly coated with an adhesive system. The copper conductors are arranged next to each other in the defined pitch, and can also be produced in combination with different pitches. Our ultra-modern production systems link processes such as window technology, longitudinal slitting, transverse cutting and optical control of the FFCs in one production line.

HOTMELT-MOLDINGBy using this technique the production of

moldings, the insulation of plug connectors and the simultaneous sealing and strain reli-ef as well as the casing of electronic compo-nents and charged platina can be realised in a simple and individual way. The processing

with low-pressure also allows the insulation of sensitive components.

WID POINT-WELD CONNECTIONOur Point-Weld procedure is a resistance welding technology for

the connection of our FFC‘s with gold flashed or tinned round contacts. During the welding process the materials are connec-ted at the point of contact by defined force and power. The fully

automatic monitoring process ensures consistent quality due to the monitoring of the sinking depth and the welding current.

INJECTION MOLDING Our injection molding machines from Arburg are compact verti-cal systems, that are specially designed for the overmolding of manually charged insert parts. The injection volume of our sys-tems is a maximum of 40 cm3 with a maximum projected area

of 15 x 15 cm. We can process a wide range of plastic granulates, depending on customer requirements (for example PA, PP, TPE,

TPU, ABS).

SOLDERINGThe three factors that significantly influence the quality of lead-free hand soldering are the selection of suitable soldering tools, adequate operator training and strict process controlling by the management. Innovative and selective soldering systems are particularly suitable for flexible use for various solder joints.

ROUND CABLE ASSEMBLINGState of the art processing systems for all types of round cables ensure the high-quality and cost-effective produc-tion of cable harnesses. Cutting to length and stripping of single strands, multi-core cables, twin cables, motor, control and ribbon cables with modern cutting systems. The further processing of the cable ends is carried out on semi-automatic and fully-automatic machines.

TWO COMPONENT CASTING State of the art mixing and dosing systems ensure optimal

material processing and provide a homogenous and flo-wing material which can be used in precise dosages for the

sealing of modules.
