A $25,000.00 Dollar Gift Givento the G.L.A.D. Program!
For about five years now we have been promoting the G.L.A.D. program. This
is a program that I started (along with input from several others) to pay off the
farm land that was purchased in early 2003. It stands for Gideon’s Leaders Against
Debt. The idea is out of Judges Chapter 7 where Gideon used 300 soldiers to fight
the Midianites successfully. Likewise, we used 300 people to help us eliminate
the district debt. As you can see from the chart, God has certainly helped us in
raising the money to soon be debt free.
The goal was to have the farm mortgage paid in full by 2009. A couple of
months ago we realized we were going to be
about $25,000 dollars short of our goal. After
much prayer and seeking God’s help, I went to
visit a business person that loves the Lord and
also has interest in our district. I presented the
need to them and about ten days later they wrote
out a check to the G.L.A.D. program. This is a
huge Praise the Lord! In fact, in today’s terrible
economic situation I consider it nothing less
than a divine miracle that a person would give us
that much money as a one time gift.
So, the Lord willing this year we will be burn-
ing the mortgage to the 118 acre farm that was
purchased a few years ago. The banker told me
one day that if we pay the farm off within five
years (by 2009), we will save $150,000.00 in in-
terest. With God’s help and many of you helping
as well, it looks like we will be able to save that
interest money as well. Many churches and in-
dividuals have sacrificed to join the G.L.A.D.
program the last few years. For that I am cer-
tainly grateful. Most of all I am humbled at how
God has orchestrated this whole program. To
God alone be the glory!

As the treasurer of the G.L.A.D. program, I am happy to report that my work
is swiftly coming to an end. We are heading down the backstretch and will soon
cross the finish line. The G.L.A.D. program is finishing its mission.
I would like to thank our district superintendent, Dr. Eckart for his vision in
establishing the G.L.A.D. program. I cannot imagine what our district finances
might be without his leadership in this area. There are many duties in his job
description. He is, of course, responsible for the oversight of all of our
churches; he is the pastors’ pastor; He is responsible for the maintenance of the
facilities. It is his responsibility to recruit new pastors. Sometimes he is assigned
the task of conflict resolution. He oversees committee work. In addition, he has
responsibilities to the general church. I believe he has done a great job in bal-
ancing the need for raising money with his other duties. I for one would like to
say thank you for the energies he has put in this project.
I would like to thank all of the donors to the G.L.A.D. program. Some have
given large sums to this need. I, for one, appreciate their help. Also, I have a
great respect and admiration for all of the folks who have diligently sent in $25
per month. For some, I am sure this was a sacrifice. The Lord taught us that it
was not the size of the gift but the intent with which we gave it.
Finally, if you are finishing up your pledge, I would ask you to please con-
tinue. We are going to need some money to keep our commitment of putting
bricks on the water fountain in front of the tabernacle.
Again, thank you all for your support with this project.

Love Mercy 09Love Mercy 09December 28-31, 2009 — Louisville, KY
Three intense days of powerful speakers, artists and community focused on
pursuing God’s call for their lives and expressing worship for our Savior Jesus
Christ. These Wesleyan Youth Conventions seek to bring the simple truth that
God’s Word challenges us to face the needs of our world by asking us do these
three things. Embracing Micah 6:8 helps settle the dust and the noise from the
world and turns our focus toward the important … the eternal. Love Mercy ’09
will be a catapult launching students out to live for God in their schools and in
their communities. You’re invited to be a key player in seeing a generation be-
come all that God desires and empowers them to be. For more information con-
tact Spiritual Formation at 317-774-3888 or go to www.headhearthand.com.
Panama ReportPanama ReportWe received a letter from Pastor Jose McKella who serves as the Director of
The Wesleyan Church in Panama.
“Only short lines to thank you for your support of the Wesleyan work in Panama
through the missionary team over the last 3 years.”
“It has been a wonderful help. The impact of the teams has been encouraging. Two
church buildings are next to being finished. This has been a part of our dream. From here we
are moving to start a new project, which is to plant more churches. The project name is
Church Planters (Escuela de Sembradores). We have 15 students who will receive inten-
sive training in ministry, theology, and bases for church planters. Our goal is to start one
new church in each province of the nation (we have 9 provinces).”
“Once again, thanks for being a part of the church growth in Panama.”

Easter OfferingEaster OfferingEvangelism & Church Growth is highly dependent on this yearly offering to
provide the majority of our programming funds. These funds are critical in our
ability to effectively fulfill our mission of multiplying disciples, leaders and
churches in order to fulfill the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great
Commandment. Through this offering we are able to provide a variety of re-
sources to equip and empower leaders and churches for the missional multipli-
cation movement (M3).
The annual Easter Offering is the “life’s blood” for Wesleyan North American
missions. The funds collected here make a huge difference. This offering does
not have to be taken on Easter Sunday. It can be collected at whatever time and
whatever manner best fits your local setting. Thank you in advance for what you
will do to expand God’s Kingdom through this vital investment.

Salvation Story!Salvation Story!
A few Sundays ago at our Lewis
Creek church, Pastor Dave Gates
preached a sermon on being born
again. He said he was inspired to do so
after hearing Dr. Steve DeNeff preach
about this doctrine at our recent minis-
terial. On the way out the door Pastor
Dave greeted Bucky, an 80-year-old
man that has been attending his
church. Pastor Dave said to him, “Will
I see you in heaven, Bucky?” After
pausing for a moment Bucky said,
“Well I hope so, but all my life I have
never known for sure because I have
never been born again as you preached
today.” “You can know for sure, Bucky.
Would you want to take care of that to-
day before you go home?” Bro. Dave
asked. At that point Bucky started to
cry and said, “Yes, I would.” As Bucky
was headed for the altar his wife said, “I
want to go as well!”
So, that morning Bucky’s wife, Sis
(they call her) and Bucky 80 years old
got saved. After he prayed he raised his
hands heavenward and said, “I feel so
good, I feel so good!”
