Transitions Complicating action to development

Action goes into a new direction New situation that the procrastination must

cope with The scene:

The Nazis kept interfering and getting in the way to make obstacles for Jones.

Jones managed to get into many fights, but, of course, wins them all

Page 6: Indiana Jones

Transitions Development to climax and resolution

Goals are all in place Many incidents create action, suspense and

delay The Scene:

Indiana and Marian get caught and tied up to a pole. The ark reacts and all the Nazis died, but they managed to stay alive. The Ark burned the rope that tied them up and they got away.

Dangling Cause A dangling cause is when the writer

plants an idea into your head that will come to play later in the film

“I hate snakes” Indiana Jones said at the beginning of the movie

Later in the movie, Jones has to overcome his fear of snakes and just deal with the thousands of snakes that he is surrounded by in the cave

Causes Things that were shown early in the film

come true later on. Cause 1:

Cause In the begging of the movie we see that Jones has the gold idol. Then his old friend takes the idol from him.

We then see that happen later on in the film again.

Page 9: Indiana Jones

Causes Cause 2:

Before Marion’s bar burns down we see that she likes to drink. She can hold her liquor down.

At the time it was an entreating to see this but they showed us this for a reason.

Later on in the film Marion was taken by some men and her plan to escape is to have a drink with the man in the tent.

Page 10: Indiana Jones

Causes Cause 3:

When the men were in Marion's bar. A man picks up the idol but he did not know it was very hot, so he burned his hand.

Later on we see that the Nazi’s used the part of the mans hand to figure out the next step to find the Ark. But there was two sides of the idol and they only got one side of it.
