    Le monopole d'tat Indian Airlines / Air India alaiss en partie la place en une dcennie plusd'une douzaine de compagnies ariennes prives(mais certaines ont fusionn depuis).

    2 modes principaux:

    trains suburbains (quivalent de nos RER) grspar 2 filiales de Indian Railways. 2300 trains et 7Mde passagers/jour sur 450km de rseau lectrifi,une centaine de stations.

    Bus, grs par le BEST (compagnie municipale debus). 3500 vhicules, 4,5M de passagers/jour.

    Une ligne de mtro de 11km en construction(march attribu Reliance, livraison prvue pour

    2011) Note 1: Bombay compte par ailleurs plus de 100 000

    taxis et rickshaws (3-roues motoriss). Le radio-taxi sedveloppe trs rapidement, les taxis neufs sont

    prsent livrs avec un systme de facturation et paiement lectronique.

    Note 2: La compagnie de bus BEST avait introduit en1998, puis retir en 2000, une billetterie magntique surses bus. Elle tudierait prsent la possibilit derintroduire une technologie similaire.

    Delhi - (1)

    Le bus a t jusqu'ici le mode de transport publicde choix (60% du transport urbain), mais ce mode

    est en mutation et cde par ailleurs au mtro. Les compagnies prives sont graduellement

    remplaces / reprises par la DTC (Delhi TransportCorporation, public).

    D'ici 2010, Delhi devrait compter 11000 bus dontplus de la moiti proprit de la DTC, tousquips de billetteries automatiques et de GPS.

    Delhi - (2)

    3 lignes de mtro en fonctionnement ce jour,gres par la DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail

    Corporation, public), 65km, 60 stations La tranche 2 du mtro, 128km de plus, devrait tre

    livre courant 2010

    Les tranches 3 et 4 (2015 et 2020) porteront lerseau 500km, soit plus que le rseaulondonien.
