Indian dresses are fascinating that’s why people get attracted to Indian

dresses around the world. We find it more in women dresses but it’s

not just limited to them only. Indians have diversity in dresses, not just

in terms of colors but in design as well.

Since last 10-15 years Indian dresses and Indian designers are

acknowledged throughout the world. With time designers bring Indian

fashion on front foot by performing tremendously well on events like

New York fashion week, London fashion week and many more. Further

globalization and continually improving tourism industry is enhancing

the demand of Indian dresses around the world.

People want to wear Indian dresses but a common issue they face is

they don’t know how to wear an Indian dress. There are lots of things

and it’s not easy to find where to wear what and how. Whether you are

a men or women wearing an Indian dress is not an easy job. Although

for men it’s still easy, but for women it’s really tough. Women dresses

like Salwar Kameez, Lehnga and Saree not even easy to hold in public,

especially saree.

Indian women generally prefer saree over other dresses; saree looks

royal and graceful with matching accessories and footwear. Draping a

saree is not an easy task so let’s see how you can drape a saree in some

easy steps which are as follows

Step 1:

First find the closed or open end of saree. Usually it’s easy to find the

open end; it’s the one with some contrast color or different pattern. In

case if you have a saree which have throughout same patterned you

can pick any end as closed end.

Step 2:

After finding the close end you have to tuck it in petticoat. Petticoat is

the inner leggings which help in holding saree drapes.

Step 3:

When you tuck the closed end move it around once and then form

pleats. You can secure pleats with the help of safety pins.

Step 4:

After formation of pleats, you have to tuck it as well.

Step 5:

Now move the saree around by holding the open end of sareee

Step 6:

After moving around, hold the open end and again form pleats like

below picture. This time you have to hold it vertically and then make

the pleats horizontally.

Step 7:

This will be the final move and need to be placed carefully. You just

have to hold the pleats formed in step 6 and throw it in back to hold

these pleats use a matching saree pin, or decorative pin.

Step 8:

Now check whether it’s correct or not. To check yourself, make sure

you have hold on your dress with each and every tucks, to be double

sure check by walking few steps.

Usually it takes 5 to 10 min to drape a saree, but for beginners it take

15 to 20 min at least to drape a saree. So make sure you have enough

time in hand because draping is just a part there are lots of other things

you have to do after and before this like makeup.

No one can imagine women without makeup and when it’s about

Indian dresses you can’t skip it. Women who love makeup gets a great

chance to do lots of things when they are wearing an Indian dresses. It’s

always suggested to complete makeup before draping a saree. While

doing makeup always remember your saree and blouse colors. This will

help you in selection of color and contrast.

When you are wearing a new dress always try to see people who wear

them on regular basis. It will give you an idea what kind of makeup you

can do.

Before going for makeup first look at the dress and footwear carefully,

Indian dresses are colorful so you must be careful while doing makeup.

wore a peach color saree, without bindi, mang teeka, bangles and

necklace. So you can say “It’s not mandatory to wear a necklace, bindi,

mang teeka, bangles with saree”. Her hair color is black but in this

event she appeared with brown hairs which gives a decent looks, so

“You can try different hair colors, but make sure it looks decent”

Generally women think nail paint is mandatory with Indian dresses but

here you can notice the celeb without nail paint. Thus “It’s completely

OK without nail paint”.
