'Deficiency to Sufficiency- Consensus Meet on Vit D in women ' was organised by FOGSI President

Dr Nandita Palshetkar on 17th April 2019 at Hotel Taj Santacruz at Mumbai.

Dr. Neelam Aggarwal, President IMS as well as Dr Reeti Mehra, Joint Secretary IMS were invited for

this meeting along with Dr Ashwini Bhalerao Gandhi, President of Mumbai Menopause Society. The

group consisted of 20 participants involving Gynecologists, Paediatrician, Orthopaedic surgeon

and Endocrinologist. Key practising points related to Vit D in PCOS, Infertility, Pregnancy and

Lactation were formulated.

Dr. Nandita Palshetkar (President FOGSI), Dr Ameya Purandare ( Jt Secretary FOGSI), Dr Rajendra

Nagarkatti (Chairman, FOGSI Midlife Committee), Dr Pratik Tambe( Chairman, Endocrinology

committee of FOGSI)

were actively involved in organising the event.

The next part will be related to Vit D in care of midlife health and beyond. Dr Neelam Aggarwal

volunteered to prepare the pre meet documents for this meeting. Science integra and Sanofi

were academic partners with FOGSI and IMS for this meeting.

17th April 2019 Women’s Health Summit 2019

Mumbai with Federation of obstetrics and gynaecology society Commitee to frame

recommendations for use of vitamin D in women for our country - collaboration of IMS and FOGSI -

A feather in the cap of IMS to increase our visibility and to be part of recommendations. Along with

this academic programme, there was launch of the poster- 'Vit D- Deficiency to Sufficiency to

Proficiency'. This will be distributed to all 35000 FOGSI members.

Menopause Society, Hyderabad in association with Midlife Committee FOGSI, & Obstetric Gyneac

Society of Hyderabad jointly organised a cme on Aging Gracefully at Hotel Park on 19th April 2019 .

Dr. Rajendra Nagarkatti, Chairperson Midlife Committee FOGSI and Dr. Hephzibha, Chairpersons,

Education Committee, IMS were the guest Faculty. Dr. C. Ambuja, Vice President IMS, Dr. Tripura

Sundari, President MSH, Dr. Krishna Kumari, President OGSH, Dr. Shantha Kumari & Dr. Vyjyanati

were the other speakers. The topics covered were: Management menopause MHT & beyond,

Fertility at mid life, Tackling Osteoporosis, Male infertility. Programme ended with lively panel

discussion on Challenges In Menopause. The CME was attended by more than 80 doctors and was

well appreciated for its scientific content.

27th April 2019 a Health Awareness Program for the Families by Patna Menopause Society

A health awareness program for the families of CSIF Patna was organized by Akchhat Seva Sadan

(Dr Amulya Kumar Singh) and Patna Menopause Society in the CISF Campus. Awareness about

problems in Menopausal women ,Dental, Heart, Ortho, Gynae checkups, Hb%, Blood Sugar, Serum

Uric acid, BMD measurement also done in this program. Lack of awareness about morbidities in

Menopausal women was seen. It was beneficial effort from PMS. There is lively interaction between

patients and gynaecologist.

14th April 2019 CME on Managing Midlife and Aging Gracefully

Patna Obstetric and Gynaecological Society and Patna Menopause Society under aegis of Indian

Menopause Society and FOGSI organised a CME --Managing midlife and aging Gracefully at

Hotel Maurya, Patna. Dr Neelam Aggarwal President Indian Menopause Society, Dr Rajender

Nagerkatti, Chairperson FOGSI Midlife management committee, Dr A A Hai, Eminent surgeon of

Patna and Dr Neelam, President POGS gave extremely informative talks.

Respected Dr Shanti Roy, Dr Manju Gita Mishra, Dr Pramila Modi, Dr Kusum Gopal Kapoor, Dr

Sushma Pandey and Dr Amulya Singh chaired various sessions.

Dr Usha Didwania and Dr Nibha Mohan moderated the eminent panel of Dr Saroj Singh, Dr Abha

Rani Sinha, Dr Meena Samat, Dr Pragya Mishra Chaudhry, Dr Minie Anand and Dr Supriya Jaisawal.

CME was convened by Dr Minie Anand and Amita Sinha.CME was attended by large number of

Awareness Campaign at Bihta Clinic

40-45 premenopausal and post menopausal women attended. They were made aware

regarding importance of healthy diet, exercise, osteoporosis and its prevention and breast and

cervical cancer. Importance of Self breast examination was emphasised and also demonstrated

to a few ladies. They were also told about early symptoms and prevention of cervical cancer. 10

women volunteered for Hb check up, which was done free and they were given iron tablets after

seeing their reports.

02nd April 2019 an Outreach Camp Was Organized By Patiala Menopause Society

At Gurudwara Sant Sangat Singh Ji 72 Model Town Patiala. A total of 56 women of premenopausal

and menopausal age group attended the camp. BMD, HT Wt, BMI and RBS was done. They are

counseled for diet, walk and exercise. With more Emphasis on walking for 30 minutes a day for 5

days a week for older women and yoga, aerobics and stretch exercise for relatively younger

women Calcium tablets were distributed

volunteer to provide subsidies and free ships to poor and needy 50+

About 30 women of premenopausal and menopausal age gp were registered Hb, Ht, Wt, BMI

were calculated. Breast exam and PAP smear were done. Pt were given health awareness talk

also. They were given calcium, analgesics and AlbendazoI. They were counseled for need for

walk, diet and calcium intake. They are also examined by Orthopaedic, eye, medical and

psychiatry specialists.
