• Selected 5 team members from different schools from 3 different centers ( Wadi, Narangi baug, Palace View )

Planning the program
• Introducing the concept of the program to the DFC team Pune
• Discussion of various ideas related to the environment
• Selecting a specific idea “ Eliminating Brown Paper book covers”
• Other ideas: – No Littering.– Control on wastage of water.– Hazards of spitting in public
places.– Reducing or eliminating the
use of motor horns.
Identifying the schools
• Identified 5 different schools in Pune
– J. N. Petit Technical High School – Bund Garden Rd
– Aum Foundation – Mira College Rd– Bambino International – Nagar Rd– Anjuman Islam – Bund Garden Rd– St. Vincents High School – Camp
Approaching 5 different schools
• Preparation of an Introductory Program letter for the Schools
• Meeting the School Principals for the permission and giving an overview of the program
• Explaining the benefits of the program
• Finalization of the dates for the program

• Target crowd :– Children from standard KG to
class X– Principal and School teachers
• Presenting the program to the school
• Awareness –• Cutting down of trees in order to
make paper.• Adding more chemicals to make
the paper brown.• Wastage of paper.• Causing more threat to the
Environment.• Resulting in Global Warming
Implementation of the program • Demonstrating the concept of replacing
the brown paper covered books with newspaper or without covers
• Pledging to continue the same practice in future
• Every new term the 5 DFC team members from 5 different schools will keep a track of the program implementation
• Adding more schools for the awareness of the program
• Program article will be published in school magazines
• Awareness to the Parents in the pipeline to eliminate brown paper covers
Outcome
• Local ( AKYSB) committee from different centers of Pune Jamat helped in execution
• Pictures and videos were taken in the school while executing the program
• Addressing the entire school letting them know about the advantages and disadvantages of reducing Global Warming in the society

A few calculations to be noted
8335 papers are equivalent to one large Tree ( Facts checked on the WEB )
We tapped Three standards ( 5th , 6th & 7th ) each having 3 divisions in total 18 classes in 2 different schools
Each class consisting of 40 students with 20 books each
So 40 multiplied by 18 multiplied by 20 = 14400 papers saved.Equals to 2 trees.
3 Standards in a school = 1 Tree , so 10 Standards = 3 Trees
And the multiplication continues.
