Fighting res in dicult situations or in unaccessible areas poses extremely high

risks to rescue orces. The newly developed special vehicle First Attack made by

the company ITM rom Ebersberg (Germany) specically tackles this challenge: the

innovation is based on a maneuverable track vehicle that can even climb stairs,

thanks to its all-terrain capabilities. Depending on the eld o application, the vehicle

can be combined with many dierent components. The possibilities range rom re

monitors to high-pressure air modules with water mist technology, Torsten Mller,

manager o ITM, explains. Thanks to the powerul and comprehensive hydraulics,

rescue equipment and extra hydraulic pumps can be connected in a ew easy steps.

These possibilities make First Attack not only suitable or standard reghtingoperations, but also or maneuvering and hauling purposes.

    Decisive saety improvements

A special eature o First Attack is its operating concept. The entire vehicle and all

components can be controlled by radio rom a sae distance, Alexander Hemming,

head o the HBC Product Management elaborates. It can penetrate areas or zones

with limited access and extreme temperatures and immediately start with the re-

ghting operation; all o this without any danger to rescue orces. The system thusoers decisive saety improvements!

Close collaboration between the project partners

The development o the radio control was made in close collaboration between the

HBC Product Management and ITM. In order to accommodate the necessary

operating elements, the choice was made or a version o the radio system FST 511

spectrum 2, says Alexander Hemming. This proven product scores with its rst-

class perormance, its enormous robustness and its almost unlimited individualdesign possibilities.

Sae-distance frefghting!Versatile track vehicle with HBC radio control makes reghting easier and protects rescue forces.

    Optimum visibility, even in darkness

In the ITM version, the system is equipped with two

high-quality HBC joysticks or the comortable and

precise control o driving commands, several toggle

switches and two rotary switches or the control and

pre-selection o vehicle components. Especially or

operations in darkness or in areas with limited lighting

conditions, the operator can switch on the ront panel

lighting. Additional operating comort and saety are

provided by ve eedback LEDs on the control panel. They inorm the operator about important machine

conditions and errors, such as oil pressure, and indicate

the battery status o the radio system, Alexander

Hemming explains. This means that the operator can

react in time i there should be an error.

    Perect implementation o requirements

The wireless HBC radio control is already in use onFirst Attack systems and has proven its reliability. ITM

manager Torsten Mller is extremely happy with the

results: The collaboration with HBC-radiomatic has

worked out great. The project managers have perectly

    implemented our demanding requirements!
