CALL FOR PAPERS AMSTERDAM, NOVEMBER 12th & 13th, 2015 The Aviation Academy of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) in collaboration with the University of Žilina is proud to present the INAIR Conference, in which Industry and Academia meet to exchange ideas and set up common challenges. The interaction between researchers and industry representatives is a key in order to come up with innovative solutions for future challenges. INAIR 2015 will be hosted by the AUAS on the 12th and 13th of November.

WHAT IS INAIR 2015 ABOUT? Air Transport is nowadays mainly covered in topics like airport planning (infrastructure development); the criteria of success are defined in terms of number of runways, apron stands, terminal facilities etc. Airport capacity shortage requires optimal usage of existing infrastructure. The impact of climate change and resource shortage increases the complexity. Aviation has to optimise its overall capacity usage within even tighter constraints. Resilience of the aviation system is becoming a big issue; reliability of schedules and procedures for all stakeholders involved (including passengers and local communities in the airports neighbourhood) is at stake. Disturbances due to severe weather, technical issues etc. might cause huge delays and costs. Solving these challenges require a mind shift towards changing and optimising processes, innovation in infrastructure usage, logistics and cooperation between partners CONFERENCE SUBJECTS Innovation in aviation is often a challenge. Safety and security often conflict with the need for innovation. INAIR Conference is to address the following topics: • How to innovate air transport in order to be

able to increase capacity, sustainability and reliability while maintaining the high level of standards for safety and security?

• What are the best practices in the industry? • Do we need to open the borders between

airports, airlines and ANSPs? • What can we learn from other transport

modes?

• Will technological innovation alone be sufficient to solve the challenges ahead?

• What are the best routes to implement new systems and procedures, knowing that we cannot change our current way of operating overnight?

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS Industry representatives and researchers from research institutions, universities, airlines, air traffic service providers and industry are invited to submit extended abstracts or full draft papers (limited to 6 pages) presenting results of their work. Industry representatives are welcome to send the abstract of the topic considered for presentation. Academic Papers will be reviewed based on the problem addressed, as well as the approach and methods applied in current problems of aviation industry. Selected papers will be included in the Proceedings of the conference. Areas of interest are, but not limited to: • Airport congestion • Capacity & efficiency improvement • Airport capacity forecast • Business intelligence for airport • Multi-Airport Systems • Optimization of processes in aviation • ATC/AIRPORT systems • Small and regional airport development • Airlines • Air Traffic Control • Lean MRO • Development of incident investigation Contributions can be uploaded to the Easychair system until 28 August 2015: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=inair2015

FULL PAPERS AND ORAL PRESENTATIONS After abstract acceptance, the authors contri-buting with full draft papers can submit the result of their work until the 25th of September 2015. Full papers will be peer-reviewed and the final revised paper will be included in the conference proceedings. All oral presentations will take place in chaired sessions including questions and answering time. Proceedings will be published and hard-copies will be sent to workshop attendants, upon their request during registration. IMPORTANT DATES 28 August 2015: Abstract Submission 11 September 2015: Notification of acceptance 25 September 2015: Camera-Ready Submission ABOUT THE AVIATION ACADEMY The Aviation Academy (AUAS) performs research in real-life cases and problems in the aviation sector, focusing on safety, MRO process improvement, composites and aviation capacity. Our goal is to improve and innovate professional practice. We perform all of our research projects in close cooperation with industry, governmental agen-cies and scientific institutions or universities. This ensures a solid connection with state-of-the-art scientific knowledge, as well as a focus on the most urgent and current problems and challenges on the work floor. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF ŽILINA (UNIZA) The University of Žilina – Air Transport Depart-ment is an educational and research workplace of the University. Educational, research and consultation activities of the Department are oriented at air transport operation, management of air traffic services, satellite systems, a/c maintenance, economics, airport design and operations, air transport security and safety. The Department provides Bachelor, Master, PhD. Courses and offers ab initio pilot training to ATPL frozen level combined with academic education. The department is an ACI recognized educational institution and member of the EASN.
