In this 7-part series, Quiz Worx Home Delivery will follow Jesus as he meets different people throughout the gospels. As we meet these different people, we will see how Jesus relates to them and learn how people are to relate to Jesus. The Bible shows us that Jesus came to show people the way to know God and have eternal life with him. Through our weekly Kids’ Talk videos, we will see that Jesus wants all kinds of people, no matter who they are, where they come from or what they have done, to trust him and become part of God’s Kingdom forever. Each Kids’ Talk video has accompanying discussion questions for you to work through with your children. We have also provided some further ‘Digging Deeper’ family devotions. These will help you and your family discover more about who Jesus is and what it means to know him and relate to him. As we look at the people Jesus met when he lived here on earth, our hope and prayer is that you will be encouraged to trust Jesus and tell others to trust Jesus too. We have worked hard to make this 7 week series engaging and appealing to both Christians and non-Christians. Therefore, we hope and pray you can use these Kids’ talks to introduce your friends and family to Jesus.

questions about who Jesus is and what he is like. Make sure you ask your questions to the friend you are watching this video with.

Give thanks that Jesus loves us so much.

Ask God to help you remember that you are always loved by Jesus.

If watching with a friend, ask God to help you find out more about Jesus and how you, like the Samaritan woman, can become friends with Jesus too.

How to use ‘Digging Deeper’ for the ‘Jesus and ….’ series.

To help you through our ‘Jesus and..’ series, each week we will provide three devotions. We encourage you to read these passages with those in your household at a time that suits, and use the questions to guide you as you talk about and reflect on how Jesus related to the people he met and how we are to relate to Jesus.

We looked at several different Bible translations when creating these questions. Feel free to use any version as you work through them with your family. Memory Verse Challenge

The first memory verse for our ‘Jesus and the People He Met’ series is from John 3:16. Flip your hat backwards and get your groove on as you join Aneeka and her ‘cool kid’ friends in our memory verse chant. As we look at how Jesus related to the people he met in the gospels, we will see that Jesus wants all people to know him, trust him and be part of God’s Kingdom forever.

As you look at each passage, keep asking:

a) What do we learn about who Jesus is and what he is like? b) What do we learn about how people are to relate to Jesus? c) Who can I tell about Jesus?

Devotion 1- John 4:1-26 (for those with younger children, just read v4-15 and 25-26)

In this passage we explore what happens when the Samaritan woman goes alone to the well to get water in the middle of the day. She meets Jesus there and they talk about getting water from the well to quench their thirst. But Jesus offers something that no one else can give…...

1. Read v13-14 again. What is Jesus really offering here? 2. Jesus has only just met this woman, yet he knows all about her (v16-18). How can Jesus

know all these things? 3. The woman thinks Jesus is a prophet (v19). Who does Jesus say he is? 4. Who do you say Jesus is? Have you accepted him as your king? Do you trust that he can

give you the ‘living water’ of eternal life?

Thank God that he knows everything about us, and he still loves us!

Praise God that he offers all of us eternal life

Pray that we can accept and trust Jesus as our king.

Family Devotions

Devotion 2 – John 4:27-42 (for those with younger children, just read v27-30 and v39-42)

In this passage we read about what happens after the woman met Jesus at the well. Even though she was different and rejected by others in her town, Jesus still loved her. After meeting Jesus, she can’t wait to tell others about what happened.

1. Who did the woman tell about Jesus and what did she say to them?

2. What did the people of the town do after they heard what the woman said about Jesus? Who did they say Jesus was?

3. Who do you say Jesus is? Who is someone you can share Jesus with?

Pray

Give thanks to God that even through just one person, many people can find out about Jesus and put their trust in him.

Pray for someone who you can share Jesus with and ask God to help them to know that Jesus loves them.

Devotion 3 – John 13:34-35

In this week’s devotions we have seen how Jesus’ love changed the Samaritan woman and how her telling others about Jesus resulted in many other people putting their faith in him. Being loved by God changes us to love others.

1. Jesus says we are to love others in the same way that he loves us. How does Jesus love us?

2. Think about those in your family, at church or at school, and even those you might not be friends with. What are some of the ways that you can love them just like Jesus loves you?

3. How might our loving others help more and more people to find out about Jesus’ love?

Pray

Thank God that Jesus loves us so much that he willingly gave up his life for us. Thank him for the gift of new life that lasts forever when we put our trust in Jesus.

Ask God for help to love others just as Jesus loves us.
