In the Transition Dr. Shane Garrison Love & Marriage Series Starts Sunday Night Starting this Sunday evening, September 21 @ 6 pm, I am beginning a new 4-part series called “Love & Marriage.” This message series is designed to serve and strengthen marriages through God’s Word. The series is for anyone. It is for those who are married, divorced and remarried, engaged, newly married, single and looking to marry, or for students who want to be married one day. We will take the traditional wedding vows spoken in most ceremonies and break each phrase down to discover the meaning it has from Scripture. It is amazing how these vows have much deeper meaning than just pretty words repeated at the altar of the church. The goal is not to condemn or point out failures in anyone’s marriage. No marriage is perfect and no husband or wife has done everything right. Instead the purpose of the series is to look to the Bible, and to God, who designed marriage and gave us clear instructions on how to build strong, healthy marriages that glorify Him. Here are the message topics and Scripture passages for the series. September 21 To Have and to Hold Genesis 2:20-25 September 28 For Better or Worse Matthew 19:1-10 October 5 In Sickness and in Health 1 Corinthians 7:1-5 October 19 To Love and to Cherish Ephesians 5:21-33 I do hope you will join us for these four Sunday nights together. I know you will be encouraged. ____________________________________________________________ Youth Ministry News_ Kevin Coots Wednesday, September 24 Lincoln County High School, Middle School, & Stanford Elementary before the start of classes. Love & Marriage Series Starts Sunday Night

Starting this Sunday evening, September 21 @ 6 pm, I am beginning a

designed to serve and strengthen marriages through God’s Word.

The series is for anyone. It is for those who are married, divorced and

We will take the traditional wedding vows spoken in most ceremonies and

break each phrase down to discover the meaning it has from Scripture. It

is amazing how these vows have much deeper meaning than just pretty

words repeated at the altar of the church.

The goal is not to condemn or point out failures in anyone’s marriage. No marriage is perfect and no husband or wife has done everything right.

Instead the purpose of the series is to look to the Bible, and to God, who

designed marriage and gave us clear instructions on how to build strong,

healthy marriages that glorify Him.

Here are the message topics and Scripture passages for the series.

September 21 To Have and to Hold Genesis 2:20-25

September 28 For Better or Worse Matthew 19:1-10

October 5 In Sickness and in Health 1 Corinthians 7:1-5

October 19 To Love and to Cherish Ephesians 5:21-33

I do hope you will join us for these four Sunday nights together. I know

you will be encouraged.

Musically Speaking

Stuart Underwood, Minister of Music

Thanks to Becky Hacker for a great foot-tapping beginning to our service last Sunday. What a great way to start the service! Becky and Laura Lee did a beautiful job on "Here I Am to Worship" for our offertory. What a wonderful job the Adult Choir, with soloist Mike Tracy, did on "I Know I'm Going There". Thanks to ALL! Sunday night HIS HEART did a wonderful concert of Southern Gospel music. This Sunday George Munday will be playing our offertory. The Adult Choir will be singing a beautiful new anthem "The Gospel Changes Everything" with soloist Rachel Yaden.

Have a great week! Stuart
