    Dr. Manish T I secured funding from KSCSTE for the National Science Day Celebration 2019.

    Dept of CSE & BSH in association with IEDC jointly organized National Science Day

    celebrations on 25.02.2019. This event is co-sponsored by KSCSTE. Dr. B Manikiam,

    Sir MV-ISRO Chair Professor, Bangalore University, delivered Expert Address on

    " The Role of Satellite in Science & Technology". Science Quiz and Science Expo

    was arranged for and by our first year students.

    Seminar on Value Engineering, Organized by IEI, Kochi Chapter. Attended by Prof. Sobha T, Prof. Sumesh M. S. and Ms. Aishwarya Gouri (S8 CSE) on 23.02.2019.

    Sagar S (S6 CSE), Vrinda Vinod (S4 CSE), Abhishek Prasanth (S6 IT) participated in Professional

    Student Summit held at CUSAT on 10.02.2019.

    Vidhu Hari (S6 CSE) Presented the activities of IEEE-CS for the previous Academic year on IEEE - CS GBM held at SCTCE, Trivandrum on 16.02.2019.

    About 31 Students (from S6 CSE & IT) qualified for the ICT ABCD Program Sponsored by KDISC.

    Vishnu Santhosh and Gahana Mohan of S6 CSE awarded with 50% Sponsorship for studying the

    same. Prof Ramesh R, Prof Sankara Nayaki K, Prof. Divya G will be the facilitators of the Course.

    As the outcome of Skill development program held during January 2019, Githin Tomy and Yadhukrishnan E M of S4 CSE and Abhimanyu C V of S6 CSE repaired 10 nebulizers of Government Health Centre, Mattoor on 12.02.2019.

    NSS Students of CSE & IT took part in the NSS State Camp at ASIET from 08.02.2019 to

    10.02.2019. They were also actively involved in cleaning off Malayattoor Nakshatratadakam as

    the part of Paristithitikam Project by Directorate Of Environment and Climate

    which focused on reduction of plastic and received huge appreciation for cleaning off

    Vazhuthakkulam Pond.

    Abhimanyu C V of S6 CSE presented about "Implementation of Green Protocol at Thiruvairanikulam Temple and Kanjoor Church by NSS volunteers". This program was organized by District Administration in connection with 1000 day celebration of Government of Kerala on 23.02.2019.

    About 28 Students from S6, S8 CSE & IT are taking up Cambridge Preparatory Exam this April.

    Amal Dev J, Naveen Subbaram, Saurav S Krishnan and Deepak S of S4 CSE successfully completed a  ML workshop as a part of Kaizen 6 , an IEEE event held at CoE, Munnar from 14.02.2019 to 17.02.2019.

    The project idea "Smart Vacuum Cleaner " by the students of S8 IT Hari Krishnan, Anantha Krishnan and Mubashira guided by Prof. Ierin Babu was presented in TEKON 2019 KTU Fest .

  • As a part of Women Empowerment Initiative, Adi Shankara IEDC in association with IEEE WIE & CSI have hosted a 2 days Web Development workshop on 20.02.2019 and 21.02.2019 for the girl students of ASIET. The workshop was led by our own girl students Vrinda Vinod, Megha S and Aparna A V from S4 CSE. 25 students from various departments attended the same.

    IEDC, IEEE SB ASIET and IEEE IAS  society Hosted Pitch Fest for students of ASIET. The entries were received from 06.02.2019 and was open till 24.02.2019. Several

    Entries were received from various Departments and all the entries will be submitted to KSUM for funding. A total of 70 entries were received from CSE & IT.

    IEEE SB ASIET and IEEE CS ASIET conducted an event Celluloid - Techno - Cultural Event in connection with Arts Fest (Sargam 2019) on 19.02.2019 and 20.02.2019.

    K MANI CHANDYKanianthra Mani Chandy (born 25th October 1944 , Kottayam) is the Simon Ramo Professor of Computer Science at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering with a thesis in Operations research. He also earned a Master's from the New York University, and a Bachelor's from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. In 1984, along with J Misra, Chandy proposed a new solution to Dining philosophers problem. Chandy does research in distributed computing. He has published three books and over a hundred papers on distributed computing, verification of concurrent programs, parallel programming languages and performance models of computing and communication systems, including the eponymous BCMP networks. He described the Chandy-Lamport algorithm together with Leslie Lamport.
