• 70% to 90% of adults use social media• 100,000 text edits a day on Trove• 1.7 billion Wikipedia edits to date• Fitbits and growth of wearable data

• Smartphones with GPS let you – tell your networks where you are – access location specific information

• Google maps— open and accessible • Interactions with places are recorded

in many and varied ways

Digital is a community space• Our relationships are increasingly

conducted through digital networks.• It is where we – create our identities, – share our values and –make connections.

How can we use it?

• The sentiments are not new- the means of recording and sharing are

• Most digital interactions are available as collaborative and open access data

• Provide tangible evidence• What is out there and what is it
