Board your motor coach and soon, you will be on your way to the old port of Joppa(Jaffa), one of the world’s most ancient port cities, dating back 4,000 years. Carmel – Acre - NazarethThis morning will be your first experience with an unforgettable and delightful Israeli break-fast buffet - a daily treat throughout your trip. This morning, drive along the scenic Mediterranean, stopping at Caesarea by the Sea, site ofa flourishing early Christian community, where the ruins of Turkish, Crusader and RomanCivilizations are still visible. Biblically, St. Paul was imprisoned here before being sent toRome for trial. It was here also that St. Peter baptized the first Gentiles. Our visit includesthe Theatre, newly excavated Palace, Hippodrome and the Harbor. Continue to Mt. Carmel(Vineyard of God) on the Mediterranean coast. Here, the triumph of Elijah over the paganprophets of Baal took place (1 Kings 18). Visit Stella Maris, the largest monastery of theCarmelite order, dedicated to the prophet Elijah and Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Itis easy to appreciate the natural beauty of this summit and realize the sanctity associatedwith it from ancient times to the present. Celebrate Mass at the Monastery.Independent lunch in Haifa.This afternoon, we will drive to the northern extremity of Haifa Bay to the ancient city ofAkko. Walk through the streets and imagine a day in the life of theHoly Family of Nazareth. Independent lunch in Nazareth.This afternoon, we continue to Sepphoris. According to tradition, Sepphoris was the homeof Joachim and Anna, the parents of Mary, the mother of Jesus. It is also possible that whileliving in Nazareth, Joseph may have trained Jesus, in this town where his mother grew up.After our brief visit to Sepphoris, we proceed to Cana, where Jesus performed His first mir-acle. It was here thatJesus found Matthew and called him to discipleship. Jesus workedmany of His miracles in Capernaum. Here, the excellent conditionof a 2nd century synagogue undoubtedly enclosed the sacred sanc-tuary in which Jesus taught and preached. Most Scripture scholarsrecognize the home of Peter’s mother-in-law in the remains of achurch near the shore as dedicated to his honor. At Tabgha, Jesuschallenged His disciples to feed a crowd of 5,000 in theMultiplication of Loaves and Fishes.Explore the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus offered His‘Sermon on the Mount.’ Celebrate Mass at the Church of theBeatitudes. Independent lunch.This afternoon, drive north to explore the upper regions of Israel tothe foot of Mount Hermon, overlooking Syria and the Road toDamascus, where Jesus appeared to Paul. We will travel toCaesarea Philippi where Jesus asked His disciples and each one ofus, “Who do you say that I am?” Here, Jesus acknowledges Peter’sact of faith in His true identity. Today's bus journey is filled with varietyand excitement. Leave the Sea of Galilee, we pass the double hillockof the Horns of Hattin (Belvoir) where the Crusaders were defeatedin 1187. Drive to the foot of Mt. Tabor. Take a taxi to the top of Mt.Tabor. The elevation provides an utterly commanding view of all ofGalilee. It was here that Jesus revealed the wonderful power ofpresence in communion with Saints of the past (Moses and Elijah).This also became immediate evidence of Communion with hisFather as well. Visit the site of the Transfiguration. Celebrate Mass at the Church of the Transfiguration. Continue along through the Jordan Valley. You will marvel at thedesert that is blooming with beautiful flowers, fruits, and vegeta-bles. Mid-afternoon, arrive in Jericho, home of Joshua, Elijah’sspring, Jesus’ miracles and the Mt. of Temptation. Near the centerof the city, a centuries-old sycamore tree recalls the incident inwhich the tax collector Zacchaeus, too short to see over the crowd,climbed a sycamore’s branches in order to see Jesus. Independentlunch in Jericho. This afternoon, we stop at the Baptismal site on theRiver Jordan, where there will be the opportunity for the renewal ofbaptismal vows (Mark 1:9-11). On the way to Jerusalem, we pass bythe “Inn of the Good Samaritan.”Dinner and overnight at hotel in Jerusalem. (B,D)DDaayy 77 January 1, Wednesday: Mt. Olives – Bethlehem &Shepherd’s Field - Evening/Formal ConcertBreakfast at your hotel. Begin our day with a drive to the top ofMount of Olives. The summit offers a magnificent view of the OldCity. This visit reminds us of Jesus’ last hours in prayer and anguishas He faced His passion and death. Visit the Chapel of theAscension, the Shrine of Pater Noster and the Chapel of DominusFlevit (The Lord Wept). Then, follow Jesus’ Palm Sunday routealong Hosanna Road to the Garden of Gethsemane. CelebrateMass at the Church of the Agony (Church of All Nations). AfterMass, we continue to Bethlehem for independent lunch.After Lunch, we visit Bethlehem where you can read the biblicalaccount of Ruth, David and the birth of Jesus. The highlight of yourtime in Bethlehem will be a visit to the traditional birthplace ofJesus, in the Basilica of the Nativity. Here, the Prince of Peace wasborn! Venerate the silver star that marks the place where the sub-lime mystery of the Incarnation was revealed in a manger! Let uskneel down and lift our hearts and voices in song, as we imaginethat holy “Silent Night.” Free time will be given for shopping andbrowsing in Manger Square. On our return to Jerusalem we visitShepherds’ Field, where you will see some of the caves, which aretypical of the stables of that time. Return to your hotel to Freshen-up. This evening, formal concert at the Church of the DormitionAbbey or at St. George Cathedral in Jerusalem, presented byMarty Haugen Chorale.Dinner and overnight at hotel in Jerusalem. Zion & Ein Karem - New CityAfter breakfast, we explore the City of David, which will lead us tothe Western Wall of the Temple Mount where we will pray. Abovethe Temple foundations, we view the El Aksa Mosque and theDome of the Rock. Visit the excavation of the Western Wall (OphelHill). Walking through the narrow alleyways and streets ofJerusalem seeing the Pinnacle of the Temple (Gate of Hulda - afterPentecost, it was here where the disciples preached and baptized).

We will also visit the newly constructed Jewish Quarter “Cardo.” Continue tovisit the Crusader Church of St. Anne and explore the Pool of Bethesda. Continueon to Mt. Zion, to visit to the Church of St. Peter-in-Gallicantu. This church is builton the site of the Palace of Caiaphas, the High Priest. Here, Jesus was imprisonedand Peter denied the Lord three times. Continue on to visit the Upper Room, siteof the Last Supper and descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. We also visitthe Dormition Abbey built to honor the Assumption of Our Lady. Celebrate Massat the Church of the Dormition. Independent lunch.This afternoon, we visit Ein Karem, home of Elizabeth, Mary's kinswoman, andZachariah. It is also the birthplace of John the Baptist. See the Church of theVisitation, one of the most artistic in the Holy Land. Time will be given for quietmeditation on the meeting between these two mothers, Mary and Elizabeth.Verses from the Magnificat are engraved on the columns of the church, and on thewall opposite it are ceramic tablets bearing verses from the Magnificat in forty-two different languages. Continue on to visit Yad Vashem, the memorial to thevictims of the Holocaust. Visit the Children’s Pavilion and walk along the Avenueof the Righteous. End our day with a visit to the Israel Museum which houses theDead Sea Scrolls, important to our understanding and appreciation of the Bible.Next, we visit and explore the indescribable and enlightening model of the city ofJerusalem as it was in the days of Jesus. DDaayy 99January 3, Friday: Wilderness of Judea – Masada and QumranAfter breakfast, celebrate Mass at Lazarus Church in Bethany.After Mass, we continue our journey to the Judean Wilderness, where you willtake a cable car ride to the ruins of Herod’s palace-fortress atop Masada. Here,the Zealots chose mass suicide rather than surrender to the Romans at the time ofthe fall of Jerusalem. Visit the ruins of the fortifications, reservoirs for water,Herodian palaces, synagogue, Roman temples and baths. Independent lunch. After lunch, we visit the Dead Sea, and you will have a panoramic view of EinGedi, where David hid from Saul’s wrath and the locale of the Song of Songs.Later, we will visit Qumran, where the hidden library of the Essenes, the Dead SeaScrolls (currently displayed at the Israel Museum), were found in 1947. Explorethe relationship of their teachings to those of John the Baptist and Jesus. On yourreturn to Jerusalem, pass by the “Inn of the Good Samaritan.”Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jerusalem. DDaayy 1010 January 4, Saturday: AM/ Via Dolorosa - PM/EmmausAfter breakfast, drive to the Old City and enter through St. Stephen’s Gate to theconvent of the Sisters of Zion to see the Lithostrotos in the chapel of theFlagellation, where Jesus was tried and condemned by Pilate. We will carry theCross along the Via Dolorosa as we pray the Stations of the Cross. Retrace Jesus’last steps to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Celebrate Mass at the Chapel ofthe Blessed Sacrament in the Basilica of Holy Sepulchre. After Mass, you willhave a guided visit of the Basilica and an extraordinary moment of entering andexiting the empty tomb! Independent lunch. This afternoon, we visit the site ofEmmaus (Abu Gosh). We will recall the story in Luke’s Gospel where Jesusappeared to His disciples on the road, after the Resurrection. Prayer and reflec-tion at the Church of Our Lady of the Ark of theCovenant. Peter’s Way Tours shall not be responsible forany injuries, damages, or losses caused to any traveler in connection with terroristactivities, social or labor unrest, airline strikes, mechanical or construction difficul-ties, diseases, local laws, climatic conditions, abnormal conditions or developments,or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside Peter’s Way Tours control. Byembarking upon the trip, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks involved withsuch travel, whether expected or unexpected. Traveler is hereby warned of suchrisks, and is advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage against them.Retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute consentto the above, terms and conditions and an agreement on the traveler’s part to conveythe contents of this disclaimer to your travel companions and group members.LAND ONLY PASSENGERS: A passenger choosing the land only portion of thepackage ($1,995.00 per person, sharing a twin room ) must notify Peter’s Way Tours,in writing, 100 days prior to date of departure or a penalty fee will be assessed. Pleasebe advised, passenger(s) opting for the land only package or who are deviating from the groupitinerary will be responsible for their own transfers to/from hotel/airport. However, if youarrive at the same time or earlier than your group, you are welcome to join the group on thebus. Additionally, if you purchase your own air transportation and the group does not mate-rialize or you cancel your package for any reason, Peter’s Way Tours will not be held respon-sible for the cost of your airfare.BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Due to bus space, one carry-on bag and one checkedbag per person are permitted. Standard airline baggage policies usually allowchecked baggage up to 62 total inches and range to 50 pounds and carry-on baggageup to 45 total inches and up to 40 pounds. However, policies may vary from the timeof printing of this brochure. Contact your airline directly before departure for cur-rent baggage dimension allowances. For luggage exceeding the allowed limits,excess baggage fees will apply at check-in. Our final documents will contain currentinformation applicable to your designated airline.TRANSFER AND PORTERAGE: Round-trip private transfers from/to hotel.Porterage of one piece of luggage throughout your tour at hotels. We strongly sug-gest that you travel with one suitcase and one carry on. SERVICE CHARGES FOR ITINERARY CHANGES: Peter’s Way Tours is pleased toassist clients with changes in itineraries (All deviation requests must be submitted inwriting at least 90 days prior to departure). Deviation fee will apply plus an airlinechange fee per person. Your routing and dates requested will determine if a differencein airfare will also apply. Not all carriers permit routing changes and/or deviations fromthe group itinerary. Please contact our office for detailed information.

PASSENGERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: The majority of our trips require a lot ofwalking, which may involve stairs, hills, cobblestone roads and uneven pavement.Additionally, most motor coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. It is eachpassenger’s responsibility to be aware of his or her limits with regard to travel andgroup activities. Any person with a disability requiring special attention must advisePeter’s Way Tours of the situation at time of enrollment. A qualified companion mustaccompany any passenger requiring special assistance. Peter’s Way Tours will makereasonable attempts to accommodate disabled passengers with special needs, butshall not be held responsible in the event we are unable to do so. Moreover, Peter’sWay Tours is not responsible for the denial of services by any carriers, hotels, restau-rants, or other independent suppliers. LATE RESERVATIONS: A $25.00 fee and possible increase in airfare may apply forbookings received after the deposit deadline. All space is subject to availability. A$50.00 late payment fee and possible increase in airfare may apply for late payments.Reservations are subject to deadlines with airlines and various vendors. Specialdelivery charges incurred will also be due in advance.CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: From the time your deposit is received up to 130days prior to departure, there is a $250.00 nonrefundable cancellation fee per person.From 129 to 100 days prior to departure, there is a $350.00 nonrefundable cancella-tion fee per person. From 99 days prior to departure up to the day of departure, thereis a nonrefundable cancellation fee of 100% of all payments made per person includ-ing departure taxes & fuel surcharges, single supplement, deviation fees, travel insur-ance payments and any other costs incurred. Travel insurance is offered as protectionfor cancellations due to medical reasons such as illness or injury, please see TRAVELINSURANCE. Travel insurance payments are nonrefundable upon receipt. Tour par-ticipation is nontransferable. Names cannot be transferred on reservations or airlinetickets. Refund requests can only be honored when submitted in writing to Peter’sWay Tours. All refund requests are subject to cancellation restrictions as set forthabove. No refund will be made for any accommodations or services included in thetour that you do not use.TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: All participants must have a valid passport. U.S.Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months, subsequent to return date.Special entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens may apply. Please consult theappropriate Consulate for current requirements. It is solely the passenger’s respon-sibility to ensure that all documents needed are completed and current. Peter’s WayTours will not be held responsible for lack of current and valid entry documents.SERVICE CHARGES: All service charges and local taxes as imposed by hotels areincluded in the program rate. Although service charges are included, it is customaryto leave $1.00 per person for each set-menu dinner (a collection may be organized byyour group leader); and $1.00 per person per day for the maid/bell boys (may be leftin your room upon departure from each hotel).TIPPING: For good work, recommended (but voluntary) tipping to your driver is$3.00 per passenger per day; to the tour manager/guide, $5.00 per passenger per day.Tips for the bus driver and tour manager/guide are normally given as a group at theend of the tour. Other gratuities are usually handled individually.TRAVELER HEALTH ADVISORY: All passengers must ensure that they are med-ically and physically fit for travel and that such traveling will not endanger them-selves or others as Pilgrimages entail a lot of walking, climbing up/down stairs, etc.Any passenger who is physically challenged must submit a certificate from his/hermedical doctor stating that he/she is capable of taking part in this pilgrimage with-out assistance. If special assistance is required, the passenger must travel with a com-panion willing and capable of providing any necessary assistance.TRAVEL INSURANCE: It is strongly recommended that all participants buy insurancewhen they travel since the tour operator is not responsible for lost deposits, damagedluggage or trip interruption. Peter’s Way Tours offers an optional Passenger TravelProtection Plan. These benefits and services help insure the well-being of the passengerwhile traveling worldwide. The plan payments are based on total package price,including taxes, fuel surcharges, single supplements, deviation fees, late charges, etc.The plan payment for total package prices from $0 to $1500.00 is $100; $1501.00 to$2500.00 is $175; $2501.00 to $3500.00 is $225; $3501.00 to $4500.00 is $250; and $4501.00and over is $275. If the plan payment is made at the time of deposit or within 21 daysfrom the date of the Peter’s Way Tours “Tour Deposit Acknowledgement Letter,” thepassenger will be covered for pre-existing conditions. However, the insurance plancan be purchased at any time thereafter, excluding coverage for pre-existing condi-tions, until final payment has been made. Plan payments will not be accepted afterfinal payment has been made. All plan payments are non-refundable. If you chooseto extend your stay or embark on a pre-tour program, travel insurance can be purchasedfor an additional $4.00 per day. Additional coverage needs to be requested. The insur-ance plan will not automatically be extended. The extended insurance plan will onlycover pre-paid arrangements made through Peter’s Way Tours. Land Only passengerscan have their air arrangements covered for an additional $20.00 per person. ThePassenger Travel Protection Plan includes coverage for the following: trip cancella-tion/interruption, baggage/personal effects, emergency evacuation, repatriation, acci-dent/sickness medical expenses, accidental death dismemberment & 24-hourEmergency Assistance Services. These benefits and services are provided by SevenCorners, Inc. Upon claim approval, reimbursement is up to 100% of the non-refundablepayments for your trip. Cancellation For Any Reason upgrade can be added to yourpolicy for an additional $100.00. This includes reasons for cancellation not otherwisecovered by the regular policy. You can cancel up to 2 days prior to departure andreceive reimbursement of up to 75% of the non-refundable payments for your trip.Payments must be received for the upgrade with your insurance premium at the timeof deposit or within 15 days from the date of the Peter’s Way Tours “Tour DepositAcknowledgement Letter”.
