CA. Krishna Prasad Acharya is President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal for the year 2019/20. He was elected Vice President of the Institute for the year 2018/19. He was also a council member for the year 2009-2012. He served in different Committees of Institute in past. He has obtained CA degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2003 and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) from 2003. He secured degree of Masters of Philosophy in Management in 2010. He was an Administrator/CEO of Employees Provident Fund of Nepal from 2012 to 2017. Before he was appointed as an Administrator he occupied different senior positions in Employees Provident Fund. Furthermore, he was a CEO of United Insurance Co Ltd. and General Manager/ CEO at NIDC (Financial Institutions) Ltd. and Board Member of different Financial Institutions like Nabil Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal SBI Bank (Chairman).

Mr. Rajith Perera (ACA, ACMA, CGMA) Partner, Ernst & YoungFinancial Accounting Advisory Services

Rajat is a team member for IFRS 9 impact assessment projects for majority of the Banks & Finance Companies in Sri Lanka, Maldives & Bhutan. Rajith have worked with all State and private sector commercial banks in Sri Lanka relating to numerous engagements relating Financial Instruments (SLFRS 9, LKAS 39, LKAS 32). He combines Accounting and Financial Risk capabilities through his experience working at EY and capital Markets in Sri Lanka. He specialises Specializes on Credit modelingin line with IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and BASEL Regulation and specializes on Models based on Risk Rating, Models Based on Delinquency and Models based on other Migration Perspectives

Mr. Chathumin Gunarathne Manager, Deloitte

Chathumin is a manager at Deloitte Sri Lanka. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a member of Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a degree in Accounting (with a first class) from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has an extensive experience in auditing and corporate reporting by serving for clients in various industries. Prior to joining with Deloitte, he severed as a IFRS technical reviewer/training facilitator at Ernst and Young Sri Lanka and technical manager at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka). Currently, he is serving as a member of Financial Reporting Implementation and Interpretation Committee and the Annual Report Awards committee of CA Sri Lanka and a facilitator for IFRS related trainings conducted by it.

Mr. Manil Jayesinghe President , ICA Srilanka

Mr. Jayesinghe has been in the Council of CA Sri Lanka since 2013 and was the Vice President of the Institute from 2018/2019. At present, he serves as the incumbent Chairman of the Statutory Accounting Standards Committee and as a Member of the Statutory Auditing Committee apart from holding membership in many other committees of CA Sri Lanka.

He is also the current Chair of the Accounting Standards Committee of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and has served as a Board Member for the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) of IFAC. At present, he is a Consultant to several Audit Committees of Listed Companies

Mr. Muzawwir ManzeerDirector, Deloitte

Muzawwir works as the Director – Assurance and Advisory practice of SJMS Associates. He has over fourteen years of experience in assurance and advisory services. His client portfolio includes different sectors of audits as well as quoted public companies.

Muzawwir is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors . Muzawwir serves as assistant secretary and education committee chair for the Institute of Internal Auditors – Sri Lanka Chapter.

Mr. Wimansa WijesuriyaAssistant Manager, Accounting Advisory Services

He is Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA). He Passed Finalist ofChartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also obtained BSc. Accounting (Special) from University of Sri Jayewardenepura (1st Class). He is currently working as an Assistant Manager in the accounting advisory services of KPMG Sri Lanka and he has participated in various trainings and workshops relating to SLFRS. He has over 6 years of experience in both audit assignment and accounting advisory engagements in Sri Lanka.

He is currently involved in SLFRS convergence projects such as Business combination, SLFRS 15 & 16 engagements, providing accounting advisory services for internal and external clients. He is currently leading more than 20 SLFRS 16 & 15 engagements, providing accounting advisory services. He has strong accounting and auditing background, which helps him to deal with a range of matters related to accounting and auditing. Also he has a very good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Mr. Sandun ChandrasomaSenior Manager, Accounting Advisory Services

he is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka he has obtained BBA in Finance (Special) from University of Colombo. He is currently working as a Senior manager in the accounting advisory services of KPMG Sri Lanka and he has participated in various trainings and workshops relating to SLFRS.

He has over 9 years of experience in audit assignment both in Sri Lanka and in the Maldives and served as the Engagement Manager for number of listed entities including multinationals, conglomerates, and a number of organizations across diverse industries. He has strong accounting and auditing background, which helps her to deal with a range of matters related to accounting and auditing. Also he has a very good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Mr. Ravindu DalugodaManager, Accounting Advisory Services, KPMG in Sri Lanka

He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA). He has obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Ravindu is a Manager in the accounting advisory division of KPMG Sri Lanka and counts more than 8 years of post-qualifying experience in the field of external audit and corporate finance.

He has work experience in both Maldives and Botswana. During his work tenures in external audit in Sri Lanka and Botswana, has gained experience from various industries such as banking & finance, manufacturing, trading and leisure. Ravindu mainly engages in engagements related to IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.

Mr. Malinda BoyagodaPartner, Audit and Advisory Services - PWC

Malinda posses over 17 years of post qualification experience of which nearly 12 years is with PwC, working for the offices of Colombo – Sri Lanka, Gaborone - Botswana and Seattle – USA. He also has 3 years of experience working in the Cayman Islands heading the finance function of a company operating in the tourism industry.

Malinda is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK (CIMA – UK) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He graduated from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Sri Lanka with a Degree in BSc Business Administration specialised in Finance.

He is currently a Partner at PwC leading audit and assurance engagements primarily focusing on the financial services sector clients. He is also the deputy IFRS leader of PwC Sri Lanka and has been involved in quality control, industry specialization and audit methodology initiatives of the international firm for a number of years.

Mr. Sameera AnthonyManager – Audit Assurance & Forensic AccountingB R De Silva & Co. Chartered Accountants

C. Samira Wipul Anthony is working as a Manager Audit, Assurance & Forensic Investigations, attached to B R De Silva & Company – Chartered Accountants. He carried out a research on “How to Introduce Forensic Auditing Education Sri Lankan Curriculum. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. (ACA). He is a founder of “Certificate Course of Forensic Accounting & Auditing” Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka He is a lecturer in implementation of IFRS 09 / IFRS 15/ IFRS 16.

Ms. Priyoshini FernandoSenior Manager, Ernst & Young

Priyoshini Fernando is an Associate member of the of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka). She counts over 10 years of experience in audit and assurance services and is currently a member of senior management of Ernst & Young. Priyoshini’s primary role at Ernst & Young is to support audit teams and audit quality efforts and is also a facilitator for both core and supplementary learning & development programs carried out by the Firm.

She is a member of CAPA / National Conference Technical Committee of CA Sri Lanka and has delivered seminars on both Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS / LKAS) and Sri Lanka Auditing Standards (SLAuS) as part of the core accounting & auditing standards seminar series of CA Sri Lanka for the past 4 years.

Mr. Jerad DiasPartner, BDO Partners

Jerad is a Partner – Audit, Technical and Training function of BDO Partners, Sri Lanka. He has more than 16 years’ experience mainly in auditing, consultancy and training functions. Prior to joining BDO, he has worked in Ernst & Young (EY), including their offices located in Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Guam. He has also worked in BDO, Fiji office for two years as an Associated Director and moved to BDO Sri Lanka office thereafter.

He is specialized in general financial accounting, audit and in the provisioning of services related to system reviews and IFRS training and consultation. His local and international experience includes auditing clients in different industries including, banking and finance, leisure, manufacturing, transportation, food & beverage, retail and services. Also, he has conducted training sessions in Fiji, Bhutan and Maldives.

Damith has Over 17 years’ experience in providing assurance services in Insurance, Banking and audit of Group Companies in Sri Lanka. Mr. Sahan GooneratneSenior Manager Ernst & Young

Sahan is a senior Manager at EY Sri Lanka and counts over 8 years’ experience. He is a Key resource person for IFRS 17 at EY. He has led many IFRS 17 gap assessment engagements and is currently working on multiple IFRS 17 implementation projects.

CA Madan Krishna SharmaVice-President, ICANCA. Madan Krishna Sharma, Vice-President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal, qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in May 1986. He Started his career with a job in the Government Corporation, moved to a private sector joint venture company and started public practice in 1991. He has served as a council member of ICAN and the Chairman of Accounting Standards Board of Nepal in past. Presently he has been serving as the expert member in the Revenue Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Finance.

He holds a MBA from Postgraduate institute of management of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is a world prize winner in Accounting and he has won 9 prizes in his professional Accountancy Examinations.

His participation and contribution to the profession include being a member of the Sri Lanka Accounting Standard implementation and interpretation task force of CA Sri Lanka. He has also been a resource person for a number of training programs on International Financial Reporting Standards conducted locally and overseas.
