Another Quick Month

October has come and gone. It is like the fastest 31 days of our lives

that just passed us by. While we were in MSOP, I thought the days

were going very fast as we were very busy with the busy school

schedule. But even after the schooling is over, days continue to go

very fast for us. Someone truly said, “time and tide waits for none.”

Our month began for us preparing to go to Madison, FL where our

beloved classmate and faithful gospel preaching is serving as a

minister of the Lord’s Church and His people as their preacher. Bro.

and Sis. Ted Brooks have been our greatest of friends since day 1 of

our stepping into the school of preaching premises.

We stayed with them for a night or two reporting our labors in India

and Haritha got to attend “digging deep” study with the ladies of the

church in Madison, FL. Sis. Brooks was very gracious to have hosted

them.

That Sunday also happened to be my wife’s birthday. Sis. Brooks

made her a cake to cut and we all celebrated her birthday.

“Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isa. 6:8).

The next Lord’s day we had the privilege to visit the congregation in Cartersville, GA. Another MSOP alumnus

preaches there and I was asked to both present the mission work as well as deliver the Lord’s message. It was a

blessed experience meeting brethren in various places of this country and be able to preach to them from the

Holy Scriptures.

Living in Memphis, TN gives us an opportunity to be able to visit brethren in local churches as well as support

their lectureships and gospel meetings. The prestigious “Spiritual Sword” Lectures at Getwell Church of Christ

was conducted during the month of October and we were able to attend on one of the morning sessions and

were encouraged by the sermons delivered by Godly men.

Also, the telecasted episodes of A Bible Answer program that were aired in the month of September are now

available for anyone to watch on YouTube. If you recollect I did not have a direct link for the episodes last

month but they are now available. Direct links for episodes # 745 to 749 are below.

Alternatively, please go to YouTube and search “A Bible Answers” and look for programs that are Episodes #

745 to 749. May God be glorified by our efforts to answer biblically those questions that were asked of us.

On the Home Front

Mom and Dad celebrated their 40th anniversary on the 5th of October, 2018. It is a tradition of the congregation

in Kakinada, India that the church gathers at member’s home to celebrate the happy occasion together and reach

to the neighbors and unbelievers with the gospel. My father writes, “The children arranged a thanks giving

meeting that evening with about 250- 300 people in attendance. Four brethren spoke briefly and every one of us

enjoyed chicken biryani afterwards. We give thanks to our Lord for enabling us to work in His vineyard for 40

years together.”

“Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isa. 6:8).

Dad was invited to preach at a lectureship in nearby town in India which he had the privilege to present the

gospel to them that attended there.

Dad also spoke on a lectureship in a congregation that he helped get started in the 70s and whose preacher we

the boys have known all our lives. The theme of the lectureship was God’s manifold wisdom known through the

church (Eph. 3:10)

“Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isa. 6:8).

There has been a great number of new signups for BBC coming through online portal due to our YouTube

channel. One diligent seeker of the truth writes, “Please prayer for my wife and family to know how is real God.

she love Jesus but she loves other gods” and another writes, “My husband teaches the gospel. We started the

study in the last 6 months with those who do not read and study the Bible. The Bible is in short supply. Their

condition is so poor and we cannot afford to buy bibles. Can you help us anyway?”

I have preached from pulpits in my short career as a gospel preacher that “Bible alone has the whole counsel of

God and Bible alone has the power to save souls and it is our intention that we put a bible in every home in

India and also in every hand that has a desire to read the bible.” We are striving to make that goal a reality. This

we do because of your generous and continuous help.

Our free Basic Bible Course ministry that reaches people through systematic lessons and free bible to the

graduates continues to generate interest in the students and those that are soul lovers to study with others. But

sadly, we are severely short of funds every month. Each month we are about 45-50% short of the required

funds. Predominantly in the purchase of much needed bibles.

The Elders at Green Plain Church of Christ in Hazel, KY had decided to donate $2,000 as a one-time help to us

in the month of September to be able to help us with widows and orphans ministry that we do in Kakinada. We

had put those funds to a good use. These funds are used to purchase rice and medicines to those in the leper

colony. The local preacher in the leper colony Bro. Sudhakar arranged for rice and medicines for the widows

that live in the colony along with another round of financial help to the members as well.

“Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isa. 6:8).

What are our current needs?

A. Since prayer support is so important to the success of this mission, please pray for us fervently. We are

constantly reminded as written by James, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth

much.” (Jas. 5:16b).

1. Please pray for Fiona’s paperwork to come through quickly.

2. Please remember our family as we travel.

3. Please pray for our continuous smooth running of our ministry. The government of India is

making up laws to try to stop mission works in India run smoothly.

B. Sufficient funds are required for us and for the Lord’s work.

1. We are about 40-50% short of monthly budget for the intended mission work.

2. We are seeking monthly commitment from individuals and congregations that are serious on

spreading the gospel to the whole world.

C. Relocating expenses for our family.

1. As you know that we graduated in MSOP in June 2018 and waiting our papers to come through

for our baby.

a. We have gotten two of the three much needed papers for her already.

b. We expect the final papers to come by the middle of November.

c. We plan on leaving for India by the end of the month in November in time to attend the

PTP – India.

2. We need about $5,000 for all three of us to move back to India.

a. This will include our airline tickets to travel.

b. They also include shipping charges for some of our essentials.

c. Please help us make our move.

D. Need for Bibles.

1. We are currently active in about 50 ministries that we do on regular basis.

a. Each of these ministries are focused on saving souls by evangelism, benevolence and

edification.

b. Souls when they are saved require a copy of the bible to grow spiritually.

c. Our new brochure which lists our labors is also in the attachment with this newsletter.

2. We anticipate as we enter into the final quarter of the year and that we are going to be busy

serving the Lord there will be a huge need for bibles.

a. An estimated anywhere between 8-10,000 bibles or more will be needed by us by January.

b. We averaged 1000 bibles each month of this year 2018 that were bought and given away

for free for those that have asked for a copy of the Holy Writ and those that completed

the Basic Bible Course by Bro. Ira Rice Jr. This could increase because of the programs

that we have coming up.

c. Each bible costs $3.15 (including shipping).

3. Please help us meet the demand for a soul that would ask for a bible.

How can you help?

A. If you know of any good congregations or faithful Christians that have a heart to give for His work please

recommend our works to them.

B. Please send your regular contributions to our overseeing congregation and make a note saying, “India

Mission Work – Ronnie Gootam.”

C. Plan a visit to Kakinada, India to do mission work with us.
