AKUMAL

Privacidad:

Akumal significa “Lugar de Tortu-gas” en maya, donde año con año,cientos de tortugas verdes y cagua-ma llegan a sus orillas para desovar.Se ubica en una bahía protegidapor arrecifes, por lo que las aguasson tranquilas y perfectas paranadar y bucear. La caleta Yalkú sehaya al norte siguiendo el caminode la Bahía Media Luna. Con hote-les, casas particulares y condomin-ios para rentar, Akumal ofrece alvisitante todas las comodidades,incluyendo restaurantes con espe-cialidades internacionales.

Tip viajero: Te recomendamosrentar un auto, ya que hay una dis-tancia considerable desde la entra-da hasta la playa y la caleta deYalkú, que está todavía más aleja-da. Recuerda llevar snorkel y visor.

PAAMUL

Privacidad:

Paamul, es un sitio de fantasía paralos intrépidos que desean experi-mentar el placer de la naturalezaen su estado original, pues seencuentra alejada del bullicio, sepuede practicar la pesca o el buceoy además cuenta con cabañas rús-ticas ubicadas entre la selva y elmar turquesa. Es también el lugarelegido por las tortugas marinaspara desovar en las noches, entrelos meses de mayo a julio, determi-nando que sea también considera-do como un sitio ecológico.

Tip viajero: La entrada a estaplaya sólo tiene un letrero, así quehay que estar muy pendientes al irviajando sobre la carretera para noperderla. El entorno es rústico ymuy tranquilo, aquí no hay clubesde playa, pero hay un excelenterestaurante con alberca y baños.

Privacy:

Akumal means “turtle’s place” inMayan, where every yearhundreds of green and logger-head sea turtles arrive at itsshores to nest. It is located on areef-protected bay, that is why itswaters are calm and perfect toswim and scuba dive. Yalku’scove is on the north follo-wingthe path of the Half Moon Bay.With hotels, houses and condo-miniums for rent, Akumal offerstotal comfort to its visitors inclu-ding restaurants with interna-tional specialties.

Traveler Tip: We recommend youto rent a car, since there is a consid-erable distance from the entranceto the beach and Yalk’us cove,which is even further. Do not forgetyour snorkel and visor.

PAAMUL

Privacy:

Paamul, is a fantasy place forthe bold that wish toexperiment the pleasure ofnature in its original state, sinceit is away from the noise, youcan fish, or scuba dive, andit has some incredibly locatedrustic cabins, between thejungle and the blue ocean. It isalso the chosen place by seaturtles to nest at nightsbetween May and July, con-sidering it also as an ecologi-cal site.

Traveler Tip: The entrance to thisbeach has only one sigh, so youhave to be very careful while on theroad not to miss it. The environ-ment is rustic and very calm, herethere are no beach clubs, but thereis an excellent restaurant with apool and restrooms.

Yes in deed, both beaches arespectacular, with a considerablesand extension and the immensi-ty of the sea for you enjoy, prac-tically in private, since these aresemi-virgin beaches, in whichyou will find snails, reef remains,and starfishes as you walk by itsshores. Crabs and turtles usuallynest here. The area offers lodg-ing in cabins, and Playa Paraisohas an all-inclusive hotel.

Traveler Tip: It is a calm beach,in which there are no shopsaround, that is why we suggestthat you bring an umbrella,snacks and whatever you thinkyou will need to have anice day.

Efectivamente, ambas playas sonparadisíacas, con una gran exten-sión de arena y la inmensidad delmar para tu disfrute prácticamenteprivado, pues son playas semi-vír-genes, en las que encuentras cara-coles, restos de arrecife y estrellasmarinas al caminar por la orilla.Aquí suelen anidar cangrejos y tor-tugas marinas. En la zona se ofrecealojamiento en cabañas y PlayaParaíso cuenta con un hotel “todoincluido”.

Tip viajero: Se trata de una playasolitaria, en donde no hay comer-cios alrededor, por lo que terecomendamos llevar alguna som-brilla, un refrigerio y lo necesariopara pasar el día cómodamente.

PUERTO AVENTURAS

At only 15 minutes from Playadel Carmen, Puerto Aventurashas an enchanting beach, veryrefined environment and a widevariety of amenities, that includewater sports, shopping, craftsand a spectacular dolphina-rium, the best deep fishingservices in the area, incrediblecatamaran tours, as well as exce-llent restaurants.

PUERTO MORELOS

This charming beach makes aperfect combination of thepicturesque town and thewarmth of local people; it isabout a familiar place, with calmwaters, surrounded and protec-ted by the coral reef. This turns itinto a great place for swimming,with an easy access to thefascinating underwater World ofthe Caribbean.

Traveler Tip: Puerto Morelos’biggest attractions are fishingand snorkeling, therefore werecommend you to take a spe-cialized tour, and there areinformation stands on themain harbor.

Tip viajero: Debes estar muy pen-diente al pasar Chemuyil, viniendode Playa del Carmen, pues a sóloun kilómetro se encuentra la únicaentrada, pero por el momento notiene señalización; si no ves laentrada y te pasas, puedes darvuelta en Xel-Há y regresar unosdos kilómetros hacia Playa, Es unlugar muy solitario, sin comerciosalrededor, por lo que te recomen-damos llevar lo necesario parapasar el día cómodamente.

XPU-HÁ

Privacidad:

Este mágico lugar se distingue porla privacidad que proporciona, apesar de estar muy cerca de Playadel Carmen (sólo 20 minutos) estáapartado del barullo y conserva suencanto original,. El agua es tancristalina que resulta ideal paranadar o practicar snorkel. Ademástiene lugares para comer exquisitosmariscos y renta de cabañas a pre-cios razonables.

Tip viajero: Si vas a pie, procura lle-var zapatos cómodos y carga ligera,pues el camino desde la carreterahasta la playa es un poco largo.

TULUM

Privacidad:

Las playas de Tulum son conside-radas las más bellas de toda laRiviera Maya, ya que la barreracoralífera, la cual cruza a todo lolargo de la playa, es muy grande ya lo largo de centenares de años hagenerado una gran cantidad deextensas playas de fina y blancasarenas. La playa de Tulum es de lasmás aisladas, así que tienes la liber-tad de ponerte al sol como tal ycomo Dios te trajo al mundo.

Tip viajero: Las mejores playasestán entrando a la zona hotelerade Tulum a la derecha, hacia PuntaAllen. Te recomendamos quedarteuna noche en algunos de losmuchos hotelitos estilo bungaloesque se encuentran a todo lo largode la costa.

Traveler Tip: be very careful drivingpast Chemuyil, coming from Playadel Carmen, since just one kilometeraway is the only entrance, at thismoment there are no signs, if you donot see the entrance you will miss it,you can make a “U” turn in Xel-Haand head about two kilometerstowards Playa. It is a very desertedplace, with no stores nearby, thus weadvice you to take whatever youthink you may require to have apleasant stay.

XPU-HÁ

Privacy:

This magical spot characterizedby its privacy, even though loca-ted very close to Playa delCarmen (only 20 minutes away)separated from the rackets and itpreserves its original charm. Thewater is so clear, it ideal forswimming and snorkeling. Inaddition, it has exquisite seafoodrestaurants and cabin rentals ataffordable prices.

Traveler Tip: If walking, try wea-ring comfortable shoes and tra-vel light, as the walk from theroad to the beach is a bit long.

TULUM

Privacy:

Tulum’s beaches, considered themost beautiful in the MayanRiviera, since the coral reef barriercrosses all along the beach, is veryextent and though hundreds ofyears has generated a considerableamount of extent beautiful beach-es. l mole es uno de los platillos másrepresentativos de México, especialpara las grandes celebraciones. El

origen del mole se ubica en las grandescocinas de los conventos poblanos de laColonia.

Dicen que el mole surgió en uno deestos conventos cuando una monjamolió diferentes chiles y otros condi-mentos juntos en un metate. Estasmonjas tenían voto de silencio, por ellodurante la mayor parte del día nopodían hablar y cuenta la historia que elaroma de los ingredientes que la monjamolía en la cocina eran tan agradables,que la madre superiora rompiendo el

silencio que debía guardar dijo: “Hermana,qué bien mole!”, con lo cual provocó las risasde las demás religiosas que le corrigieron di-ciendo: “Se dice, qué bien muele!, hermana”y es por ello que se llamó mole a este platillo.

La palabra mole es de origen náhuatl y en suacepción original hace referencia a cualquiersalsa, aunque en su significado actual se refiereespecíficamente a un grupo de platillos quetienen algunos elementos en común, como elhecho de ser a base de carnes o aves, prepara-dos en salsas que pueden ser relativamente sim-ples, hasta complejamente elaboradas.

Actualmente existen diferentes tipos de mole,cada región imprimió su sello propio y así fueronsurgiendo el mole poblano, el mole negro deOaxaca, el mole amarillito del sureste, el molecoloradito del Valle de México, el ranchero de laAltiplanicie, el mole de Xico y otros muchos quenos asombran tanto por su complejidad comopor su sencillez.

En la época prehispánica se hicieron diversas sal-sas molidas y complejas, que al paso del tiempose fueron modificando, refinando,adaptando a los nuevos ingre-dientes y usos culinarios. Algunosde los elementos que se le agre-gan al mole son: chocolate (el cualestá presente en todos los moles),cacahuate, pan, almendra seca,chile, sal, canela, pimienta y clavo.
