IN & OUT

An exceptional example of Rococo style, where even the palm trees match.

INThe originality of your holiday in Estoi

starts immediately with its location. In the Algarve there is something very few

know, the area of barrocal, between the coast and the mountains, where the temperature is more pleasant and the smell of carob and orange trees fills the air. Indeed, this monument, classified by the Portuguese state, was fully recovered, with the adaptation of a new wing designed by the famous Portuguese architect Gonçalo Byrne, so that the classical style could have the prominence it deserves and so your comfort will never be conditional. If you don’t resist, peek into the original rooms of the palace, which are now fully recovered: the Green Hall, the Great Hall and the Estoi Hall are impressive rooms, inviting and filled with details that will capture your attention. Above all, be sure to find, in each pathway, another unique detail. Even the ceilings of the third floor social restrooms are amazing, since they are found in the old rooms and halls of family use. The Pousada de Faro is a palace prepared to receive you, two minutes away from the center of Faro, where the tranquility of the countryside and the Algarve sea get together to help you spend some absolutely memorable days.

The exterior swimming pool offers a relaxing view to the

sea and the mountains.

THE ROMANTIC GARDENS OF THE PALACE

Geometrical French style gardens overwhelm

us with their serenity. The swimming pool, along with

the charming gardens, is part of this property.

The old stables of the palace have been converted into three separate areas or a single room, depending on the event.

“O VISCONDE” RESTAURANT

The restaurant has a curious access: the old kitchen of the Palace. Here you can find the old system of phones, the original stove and chimney, decorated

with restored tiles and original lavatories. This is where the breakfast buffet is

located in the morning and where you can imagine how the meals were prepared three centuries ago. It is here that you

will also find a giant “cataplana” (pot) on the traditional “cataplana” night during the summer - one of the most popular

snacks in the Algarve.

Number of seats: 60

The dishes are subject to chage without prior notice.

Estoi is a great little village located between São Brás de Alportel and Faro – one of the best kept secrets

of the Algarve. Those coming to this picturesque and quiet village, the door to the hills of the Serra do Algarve, will find the architectonic wealth of a unique national heritage at a distance of 10 km distance from the capital town of the Algarve and at a short distance from its beaches. Between the typical houses and the flower-filled streets, the visitor will reinvent and create its own story, inspired by tales ok kings and Queens. Nearby are the Roman ruins of Milreu, an old Roman village of the 3rd century. The archaeological site deserves a visit for one to enjoy its mosaics, geometrical shapes, plaited ribbons, arches, tendrils, flowers and fishes and other aquatic divinities. Estoi is a destination where guests are always well received and their luggage always carries new stories to tell.

OUT

Estoi bears testimony to the Roman presence in the Algarve. Its origins date back to the 1st century.

In any direction, the colours of the hills and the sea are always present. A stroll

through the maze of steep streets is the best way to discover the interior

of the region. Two steps from the tranquility of the countryside,

we find the lively nights of Algarve.

Alternatively you can lose yourself in the vastness of the coast, with the

most beautiful beaches in Europe, or find out why the estuary is called

“Formosa” (“Beautiful”).

BEACHES

FARO BEACHKnown as “Ilha de Faro” (Faro Island), the beach is part of the Ancão Island, which borders the Ria Formosa. Enjoy

and indulge with the famous “Razor Clams Rice”.

LIGHTHOUSE ISLANDThe island receives its name from the lighthouse located on its wide beach. We suggest heading towards the East,

where the beach is quieter and more deserted.

CULATRA ISLANDCulatra is an island dedicated to the sea. Among the dunes, a village serves as the natural refuge for the

coloured fishing boats swinging on the calm waters.
