For those who may not have heard, Brooke Steyaert, a faithful member of the IMM team, passed away on June 3, 2012. While we rejoice with her as she has moved to heaven, we mourn the lose that we feel. As I write to you I feel both grieved and hon-ored. she was a pain in the butt (can I say that in a Christian newslet-ter?), because there were such times! She was a personality that touched deeply, and at times that was not pleasant. But even when she came to me and it hurt, it was nearly always out of a heart of love. IMM staff member Cindy Kinoshita put her thoughts this way days after Brooke’s move to heaven. Here is what I am walking away from Brookes’ passing: Live everyday to its fullest. Do what you were made to do…

don’t settle for less! Live life loud and honestly. Love God with all your heart and tell Him how much you love

Him…A LOT! Accept His love for us, unconditionally and live in the free-

dom HE offers. Don’t leave anything unsaid. Forgive people for the hurts they put you through. Love your family and put them before everything but God. Tell everyone who Jesus is and invite them to a relationship

with Him…no matter how uncomfortable it feels at the mo-ment. That moment may be the only one we have….

I share Cindy’s words with you because I think they are very good advice for all of us and because I think they would be much like what Brooke would say to us right now if she could. Brooke was an important part of IMM and played many roles over the years. During her years as IMM’s newsletter editor and designer, she produced a newsletter of which I was exceedingly proud. She put her heart into everything she did, including her many roles at IMM. If you have been around IMM very long, she touched your life in one way or another I am sure. No one feels the impact of Brooke’s move to heaven more than her family and closest friend (my wife, Saundra). Please pray for them, pray for all of us who were close to Brooke, and please do not hesitate to contact one of us if you need a shoulder to lean on as you process your own loss.

We are scheduling short-

term mission trips for

2013—where would your

group like to go?

Giving—Several people have given to IMM in memory of

Brooke. If you would like to share in remembering Brooke by giv-ing a financial gift, we invite you to do so by giving to IMM and noting that it is in memory of Brooke. We will use the money in a way that is in step with the life that she lived on this earth. We are currently discussing several mission project options and/or doing something in support of her daughters (Bailey 8 and Bent-ley 6). For $600.00 we could start a Bible School that would teach peo-ple the amazing Gospel of Peace, that Brooke loved, to hundreds and maybe even thousands of people for many years to come. But we would also like to support her family by providing some-thing that they may need. It will really de-pend on how much is given. So please give as you choose to in your heart and we will plan accordingly. Brooke—I wish I could have one more pepper-oni and mushroom pizza date with you. I wish we could have one more heart to heart conver-sation. You will be missed, but we will also very much look forward to seeing you again soon. From all of us at IMM, we love you Brooke and we will do all that we can to care for your fam-ily until we see you again. From my heart – Seth Dunn

Some of you read this newsletter and respond with financial

gifts. To you we would like to say a great big Thank YOU! Your

gifts help us to continue to share the good news of God’s love

around the world.

As of July 2012 we will have had over 100 short-term mission-

aries on the mission field in 2012. We will have several more

teams on the mission field this year, so much more impact is

yet to come. We could not do what we do without YOU!
