Mr. Tony O. Jackson, son of Mrs. Lelia Marshall and the late John Henry Jackson, was born in Aiken County, South Carolina. He departed this life on December 10, 1988 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.

At an early age he joined the Old Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Arthur Johnson, where he remained until death.

He was united in Holy W edlock to Miss Robertha Curry. To this union four children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Mrs. Robertha Jackson o fN orth Augusta, S.C.; two sons, Leon and Tony Jackson, Jr. of North Augusta, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline McCain o fN orth Augusta, S.C. and Mrs. Lorraine Johnson of Charleston, S.C.; mother, Mrs. Lelia Marshall of Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Carrie Roney of Milledgeville, Ga., Mrs. Julia Roberson of Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Mary Lizzie House of Orange, New Jersey, Mrs. Leola Farris of Frankfort, Germany, and Miss Jacqueline Jackson of Augusta, Ga.; four brothers, Richard Mims, Jr. and Henry P. Jackson of Augusta, Ga., John H. Jackson of Edgefield, S.C. and Isaac Jackson of Augusta, Ga.; mother- in-law, Mrs. M argurite Curry of North Augusta, S.C.; two sons-in- law, Larry W . McCain of N orth Augusta, S.C. and Eric A. Johnson of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, fifteen sisters-in-law, fourteen brothers-in-law, eight uncles, eight aunts, one great aunt, one great uncle, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

A Tribute

I have finished now with this house o f clay, Please kindly and carefully lay it away. And let me rest from this life o f pain; failing in sunshine, storm and rain. Trying to help the sick and poor, and turning no needy from my door. I strove to do my Master's work, never a duty did I shirk. Many times I was misunderstood, when I had done the best I could. I am tired now, So I need to rest. Don’t cry, don’t you know God knows best? Please, no sad hearts, nor hung down heads, don’t weep for me for I am not dead. I have another house you know, where only G od’s redeemed can go. I do not need this house o f clay; so, tenderly, carefully, lay it away.
