Presidents Report
We all had wonderful fun last Thursday with our own Trivia
night. As always our homegrown talent is the best we could
have. Special thanks to Greg quiz master extraordinaire, Ken,
Master of Ceremonies, Rewa, Shirley and Kathy, orchestrators
of the fun. Thanks it was a great night. See photos on page 3
and 4 (thank you Max).
Prior to the meeting I attended a meeting of the Youth subcom-
mittee and heard of all their wonderful projects. The resilient
Youth project with Bayside Council has finished for this year,
we may be helping again next year. David Rushworth is work-
ing on our Primary Schools speech night in June. We will be
supporting this wonderful opportunity for students to learn to
speak in public as a club, as it is on a Thursday this most likely
will be our meeting for that week. The committee discussed
our support of the National Youth Science forum and also ofRYLA (Rotary Youth leadership awards). RYLA is organized
by our own Tony McKenna so we will look to support at least 2
candidates for this. We may be sponsoring Tech Li (our candi-
date from last year) as a leader, she has been so inspired by
the experience that she is going to be a leader.
The District Golf day is on the 14th of April at Kingswood. As a
majority of the Club will be playing at the Golf day we are not
going to have a formal meeting, I am canvassing members
about whether they will go to Kingswood for the meal, or we
may have a bar meeting somewhere else. Let me know your
thoughts.
Lots of enjoyable events are on the horizon; it’s great that we
enjoy ourselves whilst having fun!
Yours in Rotary
Trish
