I have a cousin named TommyAt aged 13 he was small.He was skinny.He would complain about it, but people would say, “Forget it Tommy. This is the body you were born with. You can’t change it.”

But Tommy had an idea

He had heard that you can increase the size of your muscles with exercise.

He heard that if you begin to exercise with weights, and you continue to add weights, your muscles will become larger.

So Tommy began to lift weights

He started with low weights. He lifted weights several days a week. He began to become stronger. As he became stronger, he realized that he had to use heavier weights in order to keep improving.

He realized that the more that he worked, the bigger his muscles became.

Tommy became a body builder.

Tommy proved several things

• He proved that muscles can grow larger with exercise.

• He proved that if you continued to increase your weights, your muscles would grow larger even faster.

• He proved that if you want to maintain your muscle size, you need to continue to use weights, only not as much as before.

Since 13, Tommy has always worked his muscles

…Still, we only have to look at retired athletes to see that if you stop to exercise your muscles, they will start to get smaller. They will lose their strength.

Your brain is like your muscles

• You can make your brain stronger with brain exercises.

• The key to building the brain is in working at an increasingly higher rate.

• You can maintain the health of your brain by performing less vigorous brain training exercises, but you still must do some brain exercise.

The PositScience Brain Fitness Program is robust!

• It lasts for 14 weeks• Classes meet three times a week• Class sessions last about two hours each day• You must commit to the entire 14 week

1. Joan Kroc Center: 6605 University Ave., SD Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:30

and2. Bayside Community Center: 2202 Comstock

Ave., SD Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 12:30 – 3

Classes are set to begin the week of 2/2/10.

Important information about the program

• You do NOT need to understand how to use a computer. Skills are very basic, mainly using a computer mouse.

• You need a computer headphone to take part in the lessons. It is recommended that you get your own. There will be some basic headphones available to purchase in the classroom.
