Friday Brief Review
Chartered in June 2002, the goal of the Friday Brief Review is tocreate a more cohesive, integrated view of all informationbriefed by the D7 staff at the weekly Friday Brief.
Overall objective: greater visibility into the integrated meaningof the information presented, what it means to our overallmission accomplishment, what action, if any, is envisioned, andwhat do we expect to achieve by doing so.
We expect lessons learned and progress made to help us
potentially achieve greater integration for any daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual brief.
Long term we envision this project to lay a foundation foroverall increased Maritime Domain Awareness, help define ourIntegrated Command Center needs, and keep us in tune with the
Information Battle Rhythm.

Issues Considered
Offer more complete case visibility
Reveal causal factors
Highlight cross-program activity linkages Create no additional stand alone systems

Possible New Information
New presentation might depict information something like this
Performance Goal: Reduce Illegal Migrants
(In this illustration Tactical,OperationalandStrategic information has been combined not
intentional except to simply reveal nature of new information)
- What is current measure/quantity? (Single data point)
- What was done to achieve this goal? (Activities & Cases)
- What resources were consumed? (Results, Cost)
- How does this compare with last wk, mo, qtr, yr? (Ratios)
- Did any intangibles come into play? (i.e. Political Index)
- What is the trend of this Goal? (Trend - up, down, unknown)
- What is forecast for the futurewill trend continue? (Forecasting)
- Does achieving this goal impact other goals? How? (Correlation)
- Any known roadblocks, issues or concerns to discuss?
- Recommendation: Stay the course? Change? Why? (Future Plans)
