Improve Health and Wellness: Prevent Chronic Fatigue
with Healthy Diet
Chronic fatigue syndrome or CFS is a disorder that causes unexplainable
tiredness and extreme fatigue.
Normally when you’re tired you can simply rest or sleep and when you wake up you’ll feel refreshed and energized.
Chronic fatigue syndrome doesn’t just go away when you take a nap and it tends to linger longer and may limit your ability
to do your daily tasks.
The symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome can last for 6 months or even longer and you will experience other related conditions like memory problems, joint pains, headaches, muscle pains, insomnia, and sore throat.
The symptoms of chronic fatigue may be manifestations of other organic
conditions like cardiovascular diseases, cancer or endocrine
disorders.
It can also be caused by emotional stress that may lead to anxiety attacks and depression.
While there is no known cure for CFS, many doctors and health experts suggest
that healthy eating habits may help improve health and wellness.
Healthy Diet May Be the Key
Remember that whatever we eat greatly affects the functioning of our internal organs and most people with CFS are actually those who are sensitive to the type of food that they eat.
If there’s too much additives and chemicals to the meals that you prepare, you are increasing your risk of developing chronic fatigue.
If you don’t eat vegetables, now is the time to start! You’ll never go wrong with green leafy vegetables which may include broccoli, spinach, watercress, green beans, etc.
Include Vegetables in Your Meal
As much as possible, reduce the portion of candies, cakes, cookies, and soda that you eat or drink each day.
Limit Intake of Sugary Food and Sweet Drinks
Fruits like oranges, apples, bananas, and strawberries are healthy alternatives and are rich in vitamins and dietary fiber that your body needs.
Fruit juices are healthy choices as well and as much as possible avoid too much caffeine intake.
Include Fruit in Your Daily Diet
Eliminate Processed Food From Your Diet
Avoid microwaveable food, instant and processed food, frozen dinners, and anything with flavoured packets included in the box.
Doctors recommend drinking 10 glasses of water each day.
Drink Lots of Water
Choosing the type of food that you eat greatly impacts your body’s metabolism and its ability to fight off chronic fatigue.
But whatever diet you choose, you can actually use your mind to improve your digestion and how your body absorbs the nutrients of the food you eat.
When you eat, calm the body and quiet the mind – this approach helps turn off the stress responses of the brain and our body follows suit by improving digestion and healthy absorption of nutrients.
It also gives our body ample time to relax by reducing the heart rate, relaxing the muscles, and strengthening our immune system - all of which can help in reducing the risk of CFS.
