How does the metaphor work?

Both – business (or, rather, doing business) and

drama – are performative in nature

Role playing is a fundamental concept in both – and failing to

understand that ruins drama as well as business

What we will do to you?

Absolutely nothing, because the idea here is not doing

something to you but rather doing something with you, or

even better:

Doing something with yourself and others in the

group

In a one- or two-day workshop format you will master the basics of

theatrical stage performance as well as learn how to develop empathy

and trust in your partners. You will learn that the transactional nature of

improvisational theater massively improves your ability also in more

day-to-day transactional chores – at work, at home, in your community.

What’s the process?

In a small group (usually of 5 –7) you will be coached by our partner theater director (with extensive improv experience). In an inviting, creative, open-space environment you will first practice speech and body techniques, then play a series of drama games.

Finally, you will build your improv performance around issues/themes relevant to your business environment and challenges.

Throughout the workshop you will be developing interpersonal skills, communication skills, transactional mastery and team trust.

Optionally, the workshop is combined with an evening visit to one of the top Prague theaters (Divadlo Komedie, Dejvické divadlo, Divadlo Na zábradlí) – with the fresh experience of going through a theatrical training the workshop participants will see the performance with fresh eyes. Also, they will be able to relate the dramatic situations they see on stage with their newly acquired insight.

Real-life example

Sales team of a major (albeit local) IT company went through

a series of “presentation skills” training sessions to not much

avail. The training concentrated on the surface instead of

trying to teach the people the skills they can use in

everyday negotiation situations. Improvision® format from

Idealisti on the other hand gave (and tought) them a wide

array of tools which they readily embraced – because they

were acquired through play, in a ego-safe situation of a

dramatic setup.
