Impressions of the ISS 2002

description

This is a snapshot of the International Space School of 2002, an educational program that takes 30 high-school (16-18 year old) students from over 20 different countries every summer providing them hands-on space mission design work with NASA's resources at their fingertips. In collaboration with NASA's Johnson Space Center and the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) the United Space School (formerly International Space School) has been operating for 15 years offering an intercultural experience with behind the scenes tour of NASA facilities and distinguished lectures and tours. Designed to inspire, educate and motivate, alumni of this program have gone into fields on science, technology, engineering, law and medicine. This presentation was created by Dominic Steffen (Germany) and further edited by Tahir Merali (Canada) in 2003. 35 aspiring young leaders from 19 diffrent nations, peacefully coexisting

and working to better humanity‘s search of the heavens. International collaboration in this day and age is

essential, and exactly what the ISSF has achieved. We had the time of our lives the summer of 2002 in Houston,

and for that, we thank them and all their partners.

To the crews of Apollo 1, Challenger 1986, and

Columbia STS-107, 17 of mankinds most faithful

ambassadors,

May you Rest in Eternal Peace
