Charles Fuchs and his oldest son Earl under the name of Fuchs service station, originally established Prairie Plumbing & Heating in 1947.

Along with services of DeLaval Dairy Equipment, they provided plumbing and welding services. In 1949, at the same time the company was renamed “Prairie Plumbing & Heating”, Wilfred ‘Bill’ Fuchs came on board.

In 1958, as president and CEO, Bill Fuchs purchased the business that had grown to 5 employees. At that time they had expanded the business to include heating, well pumps and septic systems. Their motto became “WE SELL THE BEST AND SERVICE THE REST”.

Today, Prairie Plumbing & Heating, Inc. employs 30 full-time staff and operates 27 pieces of excavation equipment, 4 dump trucks, 2 freightliner tractors with lowboy trailers, 25 service and installation vehicles and 2 well pump trucks, the fl eet may have changed over the years but the commitment to excellence still remains the same.

A small family business established back in 1947 continues to offer reliable quality workmanship to their customers in several phases of construction and service needs including site excavation, building and basement excavation, well pump installation, septic systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning.
