Artists of the time period crafted images of modern life, counteringearlier forms of art based in history and mythology (Moffat 1). 3. The visual imagery found in impressionist paintings can also be found inimpressionist literature. Similar to impressionist art, the literature is highly subjective, with many gaps to befilled in by the reader, creating multiple impressions. 19.
