Career managementservices can give you the ability to take control of your
life, handle the challenges of life and work, and be able to cope with a
dynamic and changing economy. It is a process of investing resources toensure that your career is meeting both your professional and personal
objectives. Whether you are fairly new to the workforce or already
experienced, it is important to assess your present work situation to see if
you are going to meet your personal goals and make your dream a reality.
Every individual will have a different approach to career management. An
unskilled worker with little education has different needs from a new college
graduate who is trying to launch their professional career. Likewise, an older
employee with extensive educational credentials and years of experience, but
who happens to be a victim of company layoff, requires a different approach
to career management. Every individual can benefit from the process of self-
assessment, exploring job opportunities and learning new job strategies
designed to produce favorable results.
Career managementwill include looking at your goals, your personal lifelong learning, your network, and many
other factors. Effective management of your career must be built on firm foundations, so it is important to have
a clear understanding of your career assets such as your skills, experience, achievements, and future potential.
To create a clear and realistic career plan, it is necessary to explore all possibilities and keep your skills up-to-
date so you can readily sell yourself in the job market.
Career development is not a single event but a lifelong progression. Today much of ones daily work is based
around advances in technology; computers have radically changed the way in which we all work. How well you
keep up with advancements in technology and other innovations is directly related to how in-demand you willbe in the employment arena. It is essential that you include ongoing education in your industry as part of your
strategy. Being up-to-date on the processes and modifications applied in your work will not only give you better
chances of climbing the ladder, but also give you an edge when you seek a new executive position.
The economy today is geared towards providing services, and
that is why relationships have become an increasingly critical
asset. Your career coach can teach you effective techniques
in establishing good relationships, by building your
confidence in dealing with people. Keeping in touch with
your network and having the right attitude is also important.
You also need to develop your communication skills to beable to express yourself effectively.
To maintain and develop your career, you should establish
regular learning goals, and nurture relationships with the
people in your industry.

Onboarding servicesrefer to the process of orientation and integration
of new executive employees into an organizations culture, in order to
quickly get the best performance and retain top talent. Available to
companies wishing to demonstrate their commitment to new executive
employees, or even individuals who want to perform well and excel,
during those crucial first 120 days in a new role.
Companies often struggle, identifying what went wrong, when a newly
appointed senior executive is unable to immediately deliver on
expected objectives. It is difficult to explain why a well-qualified
executive cannot perform their duties effectively after having passedthe firms in-depth screening and hiring process. Indeed, the selection
of an applicant is just the first step to ensuring a successful executive placement. A critical factor is the process
for developing and implementing a career management plan for the executive to get them focused in the right
direction.
Many organizations recognize the need for establishing anexecutive onboardingprogram to achieve retention
and other planning objectives. For the new executive to be successful in their role, they must quickly understand
unwritten rules, networks and processes that influence how things are done within the new organization.
Today, the nature of work demanded by some organizations from senior managers is often very technical, taking
the focus away from leadership and management skills. When these managers exhibit great technical skills, they may well get promoted. However this can result in executives being placed in leadership positions without
any formal leadership experience or training. Such a situation emphasizes the need for executive onboarding
programs.
Typically, it takes a new executive or senior manager a minimum of six
months to become fully productive in their new position. Providing an
executive onboarding program consisting of a number of coaching
sessions scheduled during the 1st year of employment, is a cost-
effective way of ensuring proper support and integration. A well-
designed onboarding program accelerates the time to productivity,
reduces costs and improves retention. Executive onboarding services
are an investment that presents business process improvements that
can yield desirable returns.
Successful onboarding programs equip s the new executive with the skills needed to combat specific issues,
making the transition easier. The program allows them to focus on performing their new role effectively. In
general, onboarding contributes to leadership retention and promotes long-term success for the organization.

Onboarding is the process of educating and helping new executive employees
get started in an organization. It is often referred to as new-hire orientation
although executive onboarding programs are far more complex. It usuallyincludes orientation and integration of new employees into an organizations
culture in order to quickly get the best performance and retain top talent. These
programs can last anywhere from two weeks up to six-twelve months in
duration.
When new executive employees feel accepted and valued in a company, it is
more likely that they will stay with that company for a considerable time. This is
beneficial for the company since much time and effort has already been invested
in attracting them to the job.
Generally, companies offer orientation training courses for all their new
employees to introduce the companys objectives and goals, explain various
procedures, time reporting policies, benefit plans and other areas of interest to
the employees. Executive Onboardingis a much more comprehensive process that starts even before the new
executive reports for their first day, and may continue throughout the executives first year.
Surveys conducted by various HR management consulting firms revealed that respondents experienced a sense
of greater productivity and easier transition with organizations providing onboarding programs. For a good
onboarding experience, however, some guidelines have been suggested:
1. A written plan of an executives objectives and responsibilities should be provided to prevent any confusion
about their function. This plan will also provide an opportunity to openly discuss any concerns.
2. All relevant paperwork such as administrative forms and other prerequisites should be completed on the first
day.
3. Regular discussions should be scheduled to ensure that you connect often
with the new executive; feedback should be provided to help them advance in
their new position and boost their morale. Your discussions should cover
important issues like work objectives and effective career management.
4. To avoid any confusion, a clear explanation of the companys culture should
be provided as well as information about the company policies (dress code and
tardiness) and benefits.
5. An accurate job description should be provided to the new executive. It
would be very disappointing for a new executive to learn that they are
expected to perform a completely different job than the one they thought they
were hired for.
You must ensure that the onboarding program is interesting and stimulating. If
the first day is motivating and inspiring, the new executive will feel valued.

In a world of ever changing economy, almost everyone experiences
transition in their work life at one time or another. Perhaps you have
been caught up in a companys re-organization, closure, downsizing
efforts, or a redundancy situation.
Companies who need to make dramatic spending cuts by reducing
executive staff sometimes contract with firms that provide
outplacement services. Executive Outplacementprograms are usually
prepaid by the employer. Where available, employees are advised to
take advantage of this professional assistance that will help them find a
new job. Transition periods can be difficult, but if approached with an
open mind and good attitude, can be an opportunity to upgrade your
career, and strike a balance between your work and personal life.
Executive outplacementaddresses the needs of senior employees who are leaving a company and helps them
make the transition from one role to another. In the 1960s, outplacement services were originally developed
with the objective of providing alternate offices and facilities for ex-employees to help them in their job search.
Nowadays, outplacement services are practical and results-orientated and may deliver executive career
coaching, mentoring, strategic networking, and a variety of research and support services to facilitate executive

freedom. With the current tough economy you may have to overcome some obstacles before you can get your
dream job.Interview coachingwill help prepare you for job interviews, providing you with techniques to answer
difficult questions, and the confidence you need to be successful.
The purpose of a job interview is for the prospective
employer to assess your suitability for the position
and to evaluate how you will fit into the culture of
the company. While many people will spend
considerable time refining their resume, they fail to
put in the necessary preparation for the deciding
factor - the interview.
Interview coaching is vital to interview success
because it gives you the opportunity to prepare. As
with most things, preparation will always give you an advantage. The problem is that most applicants lack
direction, focus and understanding when preparing for interviews.
To ensure you are properly prepared for your job interview, make sure you look your best, are well rested, have
a professional resume and, most importantly, you are ready to answer all the tough questions you will be asked
during the interview.
You should also be prepared to answer common questions and be ready to ask some questions yourself. Do not
make the mistake of asking about salary or benefits; probe how you would fit into the job and be of value to the
company. An interview coach can review the sort of questions you will be asked and help you ace the interview
with confidence and a winning attitude. Your coach can also help you to create a positive impression, and
advise you what to emphasize and what to avoid.
No two job interviews are alike, so it is sometimes difficult to be totally prepared for what lies ahead. However,no matter what questions you get asked, with coaching you will be a confident, articulate, and impressive
interviewee.
Knowing yourself, your goals, and your achievements
are not enough. You have to know how to
communicate pertinent information and use language
that will be acceptable to the person interviewing you.
Your interview coach will show you how to improve
your presentation skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
The main point is to project confidence. Keep in mind
that actions often speak louder than words. From the
moment you enter the room for your appointment,
you are being judged. It is, therefore very important to
make a positive impression even when you are silent.
Remember the first impression you create can either
be the start, or the quick ending, to your interview.

You were born a leader. Your parents knew it, and you have known
it ever since you decided that licorice was the best jellybean flavour
in the world, Pharaoh would be the only logical name for your firstpuppy, and Math was the only subject in the entire universe that
deserved to be repelled with a vengeance.
Yes, you have always known what you want and how to get it. Ever
since you were little, you have had the makings of a leader who
would develop the knowledge and skills to make practical
decisions, initiate action, and inspire the same excellence among
peers and subordinates. Now you've grown up and learned to
accept Math just enough for its practical everyday applications (but
not for the disgraces that are called calculus and trigonometry)!
Today you find yourself in a successful executive position in a good
company, managing a team of your own, and making important business decisions every day. Because you want
to get better at what you do, you decide to sign up forexecutive coachingto help you acquire sharper business
skills.
How does executive career coaching work? Professionals who are highly trained in the field of career coaching
can teach effective business leaders ways to enhance their corporate behaviors. You can be taught more
effective leadership techniques and different ways to evaluate situations to arrive at more efficient decisions.
Executives can be reintroduced to listening and questioning styles, and improved communications strategies
that they can implement within their teams. All of these strategies are designed to help an executive create
positive changes within an organization.
Executive coachingprograms can also focus on enhancing a business executive's self-awareness, which in turncan provide a good impact on their overall performance in the workplace. There is always room for
improvement, which is why a coach can help invigorate an executive's personal presentation and style,
communication practices, team management, and even their self- or time-management. Strengths are
emphasised and weaknesses addressed in the coaching sessions.
These small changes in the performance of a business
executive can be all it takes to introduce effective changes
and improvements to the operations of a company.
Executive coaches work with management-level movers in
order to generate a ripple effect of improvements down
to the team, and the individual work ethics of each teammember.
If you were born to lead, and wired to be a lifelong
learner, your strengths as a successful executive can pave
the way for the creation of a workplace atmosphere that
is efficient and harmonious at the same time. Most
company executives would greatly benefit from the
positive objectives of executive career coaching.
