wolfA wolf is a large wild animal that looks like a dog. Wolves live in groups and together they hunt for

other animals for food.

settingWhere and when the story takes place.

hay or strawHay or straw is grass or other plants that are cut

and dried.

sticksSticks are thin pieces of wood or small broken

branches from trees.

bricksBricks are blocks of clay that have been baked. Bricks are

used in building.

chimneyA chimney is built on the roof of a building to take

smoke to the outside from a fireplace.

turnipA large round light-colored root vegetable that that you can eat that grows under the ground.

meadowA field where grass and wild flowers grow.

apple treeWhere apples grow

barrelA round container

eventsThings that happen in a story.

problemA problem is a question that needs to be

answered. It can also be something that is wrong that needs to be fixed.

solutionAn answer to a problem.
