Equine Nutrition Seminar
Triple B Equine Rehab and Conditioning is hosting an Open House and Equine Nutrition Seminar on January 4, 2020 at 1pm. Triple B is an equine facility lo-cated by Sutton, NE that offers fitness and therapy options such as Aquatred, ECB Cold Saltwater Spa, Magnawave PEMF, and more! We are hosting Dr. Jyme Nichols, who is the Director of Nutrition for Bluebonnet Feeds and Stride Ani-mal Health, and is an ARPAS certified Professional Animal Scientist (PAS) in the Equine discipline. She completed her Master of Science at Montana State Uni-versity and Doctoral degree at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Nichols enjoys making the connection for horse owners between research data and real-world applications of unique nutritional ingredients which can support the in-tricate needs of a horse from the inside out. This is a great opportunity for eq-uine enthusiasts of all ages to come out and see what we have to offer while learning about the nutrition needs of our four legged friends!

Youth Council Updates
The Youth Council made several recommendations and changes for the 2020 4-H Program Year and 4-H/FFA Livestock Shows. The changes are:
Photography interviews will be the Tuesday evening of fair week.
All clothing exhibitors are required to interview. In case of a conflict, the exhibitor must contact the Extension Office prior to the clothing judging day. It is recommended to make a video discussing the skills and challenges of making the exhibit. This video would be shared with the judge on your behalf.
2nd Year Bucket Calf will be done similarly to 1st Year Bucket Calf. The contest will be on the same day and follow the 1st Year Bucket Calf Show. Second Year Bucket Calf will consist of an interview, record book, and in the ring portions. The interview and record book will be judged prior to the “in the ring” portion, allowing for the winner to be announced at the conclusion of the “in the ring”. Additionally, the calf may be shown on Friday in either the respective breeding or market class. It is not required to show again on Friday, but does have the option.
Pen of Three: For goats, sheep, and pigs, the Pen of Three must consist of three animals from the same exhibitor.
