Each month we celebrate and learn about
a new character trait. One student from each
class is chosen as the student who has been the
best role model when it comes to that character
trait. At the end of each month we recognize
those students at an assembly with everyone in
the school wearing the character color for that
month. The character trait for the month of
September was “respect.” The recognition cer-
emony was held on September 30. Our winners
received their certificates and medals and were
joined by their families for the celebration. The
character trait for the month of October is
“kindness.”

Nominations for
Gifted and Talented Testing
Nominations for Conroe Independent School
District Gifted and Talented program will be
open from October 3-Dec. 16. Although the
testing will not take place until January, nomi-
nations from parents and/or teaches are ac-
cepted at this time. It is recommended that
parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT
scores have arrived before nominating their
child because CogAT scores are part of the
GT assessment. If you are interested in nomi-
nating your child, you may want to discuss
this with your child’s teacher at conferences.
Nominations will be accepted through Decem-
ber 16. You may request a nomination form
from the front office or the Assistant Princi-
pal. You can also find the nomination form
and other GT information on the CISD GT
homepage or use the link: http://

You walk, I walk…. We sure had fun walking to school on Thursday!
Parents! One of this year’s fundraisers is the Boosterthon Fun Run! It’s a 9-day program
that kicks off with a Pep Rally on October 17th. Then families will have time to get pledg-
es for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Oc-
tober 31st. With our big goal to raise funds for risers to be used during grade level pro-
grams and performances, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun
Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, BACKYARD BOX OFFICE! It’s
a movie theme all about making a difference by getting into character. Our students will
learn from five REAL kid difference-makers. From inventors, to world-class speakers, to
business owners, to world-record holders, these five kids will inspire our students to
practice the five “Character Acts” and make a difference in our community.
Donations will go toward risers and to the entire 9-day experience. So please help our
school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on
your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!
