FARAA’ID OF WUDU.

From the time we started coming to Madrasah we were learning how to make Wudu as done byProphet Muhammad r. In this lesson Inshaa’Allah we will learn the Fard (compulsory) parts ofthe body that must be washed properly when performing the Wudu. Should a single spot on anyof these parts remain dry, the Wudu will be incomplete.

Let us now see the command of Allah I in the Holy Qur’aan, in Surah Maa’idah (5) ; Aayah 6,wherein Allah I informs us of the 4 parts of the body that must be compulsorily (Fard) andcarefully washed when performing Wudu :-

If any of these actions are left out or if any portion is left dry, then the Wudu would beincomplete and not accepted.

Therefore, if a person has nail polish, paint, make-up or anything that will prevent water fromreaching these parts of the body, then he / she must remove it before making Wudu;otherwise the Wudu will remain incomplete.

If any portion of the body that needs to be washed during Wudu has a wound or is covered withbandage/plaster due to injury, then it will be permissible to make Masah over the wound or thebandage / plaster. This is only allowed if the passing of water over the area to be washed willworsen the injury or if the bandage/plaster cannot be removed.
