Importance of Music and Movement in Early Childhood ■ Early Childhood isn't just counting and saying the alphabet. ■ Music and dance also play a big role in how a child learns and grow.■ It’s important to incorporate music and movement into early
childhood education.■ This helps young children with their development in social interaction
and language growth.
Brain Development
■ Stated by the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, there are 85 percent of brain development that happens by the age of 3.
■ It’s important for children to grow learning specific activities that helps with their developemnt

Language Development
■ Music has a tempo that also teaches young children songs with rhythms and beats.
■ Learning the rhythm of a song helps speaking and improve their communication skills.
Types of Music
■ There are different types of music and movement activities that can be used to teach children.
■ Songs that involve action such as playing a instrument or doing hand gestures.
■ Singing songs while doing activities while cleaning up, getting ready for centers, or just getting the children to settle down.
