INFORMATION
Information, in its most restricted technical sense, is a sequence of symbols that can be
interpreted as a message. Information can be recorded as signs, or transmitted as
signals. Information is any kind of event that affects the state of a dynamic system.Conceptually, information is the message (utterance or expression) being conveyed.
INFORMATION TYPES
Information can come from many different types of sources. Which kind should you
use? It depends on what questions you are trying to answer.
1. Primary2. Secondary3. Tertiary
PRIMARY (Think of this as Firsthand)
Primary information is comprised of original materials that were created first hand. This
type of information is from the time period involved and has not been filtered through
interpretation. Examples are:
Diaries, Interviews (legal proceedings, personal, telephone, email)
Letters, Original Documents (i.e. birth certificate or a trial transcript)
Patents, Photographs
Proceedings of Meetings, Conferences and Symposia.
SECONDARY(Think of this as Second Hand)
Secondary information is made up of accounts written after the fact with the benefit of
hindsight. It is comprised of interpretations and evaluations of primary information.
Secondary information is not evidence, but rather commentary on and discussion of
evidence. Examples are:
Biographies, Books, Commentaries, Dissertations, Indexes, Abstracts, Bibliographies
(used to locate primary & secondary sources), Journal Articles.

Information Improve The Quality Of Life??
Can information improve the quality of our lives? I agree with this statement as when we
consider that information related to technology, business, and medical instead each and every
field have been improved by the information.
Google is the best example of information providing tool. Through it we can get each and every
1. Information use by health Administrator:Function
Health administrators are interested in finding ways to integrate information technology systems into
the provision of services they offer their patients. As such, there are many uses for information
technology in health care, such as electronic health records, communication, claims and telemedicine,
which allows health care professionals to consult each other remotely by telephone or web conference.
Electronic Health Records
Being able to store patient records electronically is a valuable asset to the health care field. Health
administrators may invest a lot of time and money into creating electronic health records systems,
which can track patient medical histories and reduce medical errors.
Communication
Health administrators want to communicate effectively and efficiently with internal staff, external
stakeholders and community partners. They rely on information technology to create and maintain
communication systems.

Claims
Administrators oversee the financial side of health care, using information technology to develop ways
to process and adjudicate medical claims. Having claims databases enables administrators to perform
thorough financial analyses of business operations.
Telemedicine
Telemedicine is a new technological advancement that came as a response to the global need for
healthcare. Health administrators who wish to expand and grow their organization can use information
technology to create telemedicine services for the purpose of long-distance consultations.
2. Information improve productivity :Information helps a lot in the increasing of
productivity by automating repetitive process tasks. Increased productivity can make
the difference between being effective and falling behind. IT can be used to automate
process tasks like calculating various time and cost figures.
Assess your current process. Knowing your current process will set your baseline tocompare your changes to your improvements.
Capture the current time it takes to complete the repetitive tasks. This will give you atime baseline to compare when automation is established.
Detail the steps of the repetitive areas. The detailed steps of each area will enable an ITteam to review and translate the steps to automated IT tasks.
CONCLUSION:
Information is the root of every development and advancement in each and every field of life.
So in my opinion information plays a vital role in improving the quality of our lives. No field
today can progress without the help of information.
