Guided Reading Stations and IncentivesThis solution will be most effective in a structured environment. Below are implementation ideas to attain optimal results and improve a student’s literacy rate.

Here are a few tips:

• Use a variety of features from these programs in your literacy block.• Have each student complete the pre-assessment before moving into the program.• Create learning stations or centers to provide variety for students.

Station/Center 1 – Lessons or Stories (20 minutes)

Reading Eggs Lessons: Based on the student’s placement tests, these lessons, called Stepping Stones, are assigned to match and improve the student’s reading level.

Reading Eggpress Comprehension Gym: After the pre-assessment, the students will complete 10 stories at each level. There are five narrative and five expository texts at the student’s level.

Station/Center 2 – Assessing Skills (20 minutes)

Reading Eggs Driving Tests: In this feature, students are tested on sight words, phonic skills, and content-area vocabulary. When they complete a test correctly, they are rewarded with a racing car game.

Reading Eggs Skills Bank: In the Skills Bank, students can work on spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Reading Eggspress Library: Ask students to read a book and complete the comprehension questions at the end with 80% accuracy.
