The client is one of the world's largest and most
diversified producers of specialty metals. They
manufacture precision Titanium, Nickel, Cobalt and
Iron-based alloys. They are a supplier for various
industry segments, including Aerospace, Defense,
Biomedical and Nuclear Power, with highly critical
applications.
The client needed a single unified reporting solution, to monitor Manufacturing-specific key business
parameters, and provide industry standard KPIs and reporting capabilities in Financial, Supply Chain & Order
Management, Procurement and Sales domains. It was essential to build an enterprise-wide Data Warehouse
that could cater to reporting needs over the existing Oracle E-Business Suite ERP, as well as a number of legacy
systems that were used for daily operations. The client needed an end-to-end solution for analytical solution in
various areas of Financial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Order Management, Sales and Quality
Monitoring.
L&T Infotech implemented an integrated solution of Oracle’s pre-built BI Applications (Financials, Procurement
& Spend, Supply Chain & Order Management, Sales) and a custom manufacturing analytics solution, which was
developed as an end-to-end solution.
A complete data model was designed for an analytics solution for Manufacturing-specific KPIs. The data model
was transformed to a custom enterprise-wide Data Warehouse, using complex ETL mappings to source data from
multiple systems. By customizing pre-built BI Applications for the organization-specific needs and developing an
integrated, custom manufacturing analytics solution, a smooth & seamless reporting interface was provided
using Oracle Business Intelligence combining different functional areas.
The client was looking for a single unified reporting
solution that could provide an insight into enterprise
data from various source systems, including ERP
solutions and legacy systems. They were looking for
a solution that could provide a single source of truth
in terms of data integrity and analytics.
The solution had to cater to manufacturing specific
KPIs and analytical needs, and enable users to take
decisions quicker. The client was looking for a
customized solution to be developed and integrated
with Oracle’s pre-built BI Applications solution to
deliver industry standard reporting and analytics, all
on a single reporting platform.
