Featured in this brochure is our full line of Reflect™ Implant Systems. Reflect offers surgical and prosthetic compatibility with well-known implant products and does so at a fraction of the cost; while at the same time offering uncompromised quality and performance.

Reflect™ Implants are manufactured with a state-of-the-art surface treatment procedure that creates macro, micro, and nano surface structures that increase the bone to implant contact (BIC). The sand-blasting, acid etching, and extensive cleaning (S-L-A) of the Reflect surface achieves ideal morphology for osseointegration. The cleaning process also removes undesired residues deriving from processing (fig 1); yielding contamination-free surfaces that generate stable titanium-oxide layer enhancing osseointegration (fig 2). Manufactured from our Super Ti5, Reflect™ Implants provide greater strength over implants manufactured with Grade 4 Titanium. Studies show a high degree of cellular proliferation encouraging osseointegration* with SuperTi5.

Surface Analysis By X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)Reflect™ Implant’s cleaning process generates stable titanium-oxide layer that chemically stabilizes the implant surface. The layer’s optimal thickness, of 3-4 nm, attracts body fluids without concealing surface morphology, thus promoting bone healing. The purpose of the surface analysis by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) to assess the Reflect Implant surface in order to verify that any substances used in the process have been washed from the surface and no undesirable particles remained.

Results*As can be seen from the above results, the undesirable contaminations that may be related to water residuals and processing remains such as Ca, N, Zn, Na P, S, Cl, and Si are absent or very low for Reflect Implants. Carbon layer that may be associated with processing detergents lies well below the acceptance level of 40%.

Reflect Implant Surface Treatment

For fast and predictable osseointegration, Reflect Implant’s surface treatment consists of sand-blasting, acid etching (S-L-A) and extensive cleaning. This process achieves a highly desirable combined outcome of a uniquely cleaned implant surface with ideal morphology for accelerated integration. Compared to other surface treatments available today such as the TiUnite® which is a highly anodized surface treatment or the resorbable blast media (RBM) surface like the Zimmer® Dental MTX™ surface, S-L-A surfaces are considered the “Gold Standard” in the dental implant industry.

TiUnite® is highly anodized Ti producing a textured surface to accommodate osseointegration. The tubules are meant to provide area for cellular ingrowth. One implant company has applied this surface technology to their entire Grade 4 Ti implant line.

Zimmer Dental’s MTX™ surface is a non-coated, microtextured surface created by grit-blasting with hydroxylapatite particles, followed by a cleaning in non-etching acid and distilled water baths to remove residual blasting material. This surface is commonly known as RBM surface treatment that is used on most Grade 5 Ti implants.

That surface is then protected from contamination by packaging the implant in a Titanium sleeve and in contact with the Titanium cover screw.
