THIS WEEK

We all know that God can work effectively without our help. He rarely does so though. He prefers to involve us with all of our inadequacies to advance His kingdom. Never be afraid to say yes to the path you feel God is calling you to pursue in service of humanity locally or abroad. Pray each and every day that your faith and love in Christ continues to grow and bear fruit in charity.

LOOKING AHEAD

Disarming Nuclear Weapons-a presentation by Clare Grady, sponsored by Catholic Charities. Monday, Novem-ber 12, 12:45pm at Immaculate Conception in the Parish Hall; or Sunday, November 18, 10:15am at St. Catherine in the Parish Hall.

Give Jesus All You’ve Got! This weekend we hear in the Gospel of a poor woman, who’s husband has died, give all the money she had to the temple treasury. Meanwhile, there were also many rich people who were generous with what they had and put large amounts of money into the treasury. The ques-tion that Jesus raises is how much does Jesus want us to give for him? The answer is EVERYTHING! The rich people were very generous and can be applaud-ed for their generosity. However, Jesus said "Amen, I say

to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury...she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood." This is what Jesus wants from all of us. He doesn’t just want a little bit of ourselves. He doesn’t want some of ourselves. He doesn’t even want most of ourselves. He wants each of us to commit our entire life to him. He wants us to surrender our hopes, our worries about grades, friends, work, money, our messy home lives etc. to him. He wants us to trust him totally with all we have and all we are. So, Give Jesus all you’ve got. Let him be the Lord of EVERYTHING in your life and be prepared to be AMAZED with what he will do with it.
