    And He created man

    In these last two versesAllah is referring to a

    special man. A manwhom He taught theQuran and then createdhim. Imam Ali (AS) wasborn in the kaaba andwhen the Holy ProphetPBUH picked Imam Aliin his lap the babyopened his eyes andrecited the ayats of suramominoon. Thus thespecial man who wastaught the Quran byAllah before he wascreated made himselfknown to all.

    Allah asked the angelsto prostrate beforeAdam after breathingHis spirit into him. Theprostration was notmade before the body ofAdam but before thespirit of Allah which

    carried life or existence(hayat), knowledge (ilm)and authority (qudrat).As the angels did nothave the knowledgetaught to Adam, thecommand to acceptAdam's superiority was

    just. It means that theintegration of divinefaculties in Adam tookplace because of thespirit of Allah whichpurified him. Adam was

    the grand sire of thethoroughly purified Ahl ulBayt mentioned inAhzab: 33.

    The Holy Prophet

    said:

    "I was the prophet of

    Allah when Adam

    was between the

    stages of water and

    clay.

    It was my light (nur)

    which Allah created

    before all creation."

    Thus "man" (insan)referred to in this verseis the divinelyconditioned, integratedand perfected being ofthe Holy Prophet. It was

    this original purity of theHoly Prophet which,when was invested withAdam, entitled him toreceive obeisance fromthe angels. The HolyProphet's light passedthrough the progeny ofAdam, manifested in themessengers andprophets of Allah, andreached Abdul Muttalib.Then it bifurcated intohis two sons Abdullah

    and Abu Talib; and fromAbdullah it manifested inMuhammad and fromAbu Talib it manifestedin Ali.

    The Holy Prophet

    said:

    "I and Ali are from

    one and the same

    light."

    Then again these tworays of the divine lightwere united, through Aliand Fatimah, andmanifested in Hasan,Husayn and the nineImams in their progeny

    "We have gathered

    all things in a

    manifest Imam " (Ya

    Sin: 12)

    There are some Islamic

    narrations available fromthe side of Ahl-ul-Bayt(a.s.) in which theQur'nic phrase: /'imm-in-mubn/ has beenrendered into 'Amir-ul-Mu'mineen Ali (a.s.).

    Among them is atradition narrated fromImam Bqir (a.s.) fromhis father, from hisgrandfather (a.s.) whosaid: "When this verse

    was revealed, Abbakrand 'Umar stood up andsaid: 'O messenger ofAllah! Is its purpose theTurah?' He answered:'No'. They asked: 'Is itBible?' He said: 'No'.They said: 'Is its purposethe Qur'n?' He said:'No'. At this time Amir-ul-Mu'mimeen Ali (a.s.)

    came toward theProphet (p.b.u.h.). Assoon as the Messengerof Allah (p.b.u.h.) sawhim, he said: 'This manis /'imm-in-mubn/. Heis the Imam in whomAllah, the Exalted, hasnumbered theknowledge ofeverything'." (Ma'n-ul-'Akhbr, by Sadq)

    Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

    Ruh has been used inthe Quran in variousmeanings:

    Purchase of the will ofAllah

    [2:207] And of mankind is he who wouldsell

    himself, seeking the pleasure ofAllah; andAllah hath compassion on (His) bondmen.

    There are innumerable traditions frombothShi'ah and Sunni chains that this versewas revealed about 'Ali concerning hissacrifice on the night of hijrah,. Tafsir al-burhan gives five of those chains from ath-Tha'labi and others.

    (i) The life or spiritbreathed into Adam(Hijra: 29).

    (ii) The life in everyconscious being.

    (iii) Isa is a word ofAllah and a spirit(proceeding) from Him.(Nisa: 171).

    (iv) The Quran asmentioned in Shura:52.

    (v) The spirit whichcomes down in thenight of qadr with theangels (Quran: 4).

    (vi) The spirit whichwill stand with theangels on the day ofresurrection. (Naba:38)

    (vii) The holy ghost(Ma-idah: 11).

    (viii) The spirit sent toMaryam whichappeared before her asa man. (Maryam: 17).

    Commentary 78:37]

    Yawma yaqoomu

    alrroohu

    waalmalaikatu saffan

    la yatakallamoona

    illa man athina lahu

    alrrahmanu

    waqala sawaban

    On the day when the

    angels and the Spirit

    stand arrayed, they

    speak not, saving him

    whom the Beneficent

    alloweth and whospeaketh right.

    Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

    None shall have the rightto address Allah to seekblessings or addressothers to convey Hisblessings save thosewhom He givespermission (the HolyProphet and his Ahl ulBayt). Verse 4 of Qadr

    confirms verse 38 of thissurah that ruh (spirits)and malak (angels) aretwo different entities ofthe spiritual world.

    [40:15] The Exalter of

    Ranks, the Lord of the

    Throne. He causeth

    the Spirit of His

    command upon

    whom He will of His

    slaves, that He may

    warn of the Day of

    Meeting,

    Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

    This verse and verse 52of Shura refer to the lightof divine attention

    proceeding from Allah'scommand which is castupon whomsoever of Hisservants (His prophet ormessenger) He wills.

    Thus Allah sends Hisrooh to those amongst

    men whom He wants tomake a leader. This roohcan go from East toWest in an instant andfrom the earth to the sky.The rooh knows the pastand the present.

    Hadith Thaqalayn

    THE PROPHET LEFT TWO THINGS AMONGST

    HIS NATION

    2-97 Al-Hassan ibn Abdullah ibn Said al-Askarinarrated that Muhammad ibn Hamdan al-Qushayriquoted Al-Muqayrih ibn Muhammad ibn al-Muhlib,on the authority of his father, on the authority of

    Abdullah ibn Davood, on the authority of Fuzayl ibnMazooq, on the authority of Atiye al-Oafi, on theauthority of Abi Said al-Khidry that Gods Prophet(MGB) said, I have left amongst you two thingseach of which is longer than the other one. Theyare the Book of God which is a Rope that extendsfrom the heavens to the Earth and my Itrat. Thesetwo shall not be separated from each other untilthey meet me at the Heavenly Pool.[142]

    (The narrator of this tradition added:) I asked AbiSaid (al-Khidry), Who are the Prophets Itrat? Hereplied, They are the members of his Holy

    Household.

    when I have made

    him and have

    breathed into him of

    My Spirit, do ye falldown, prostrating

    yourselves unto him.

    Thus the angels were toprostrate after Allah blewthe Rooh into Adam.

    Issah is thus calledRoohallah. He bringsdead back to life. Heknew all things hidden inpeoples hearts. Therooh knows that which isin your hearts. This isonly possible if the roohknows you inside out. It

    reads your mind. Thusthe Imam does not needto be told. you thoughtand he knows.

    At the time of the deathof Imam Ali Al-Reza(AS) our 9th Imam wasonly 9 years old. Somepeople from among thefollowers of Ahlulbaytand others, doubtedImams eligibility tobecome Imam at thisyoung age. Kulaini in hisKafi relates that the

    Mutawalli of the HolyKaaba questionedImam for several daysbefore he was satisfiedand accepted him as theImam of the Time. Oncea man was passing byand the Imam was was7 or 10 years old. ImamReza had just beenmartyred. The muslimman thought these shiaare stupid and call thislittle boy Imam. TheImam said it is not asyou think. The man fellat his feet and said youare the representative ofthe prophet without any

    doubt. This incident alsoillustrates that the Imamknows that which is inyour heart.

    Summary

    As this collection ofayats shows us Allahrevealed the Quran andthe wisdom. He taughtthe prophets and the

    Imams all that theyknew. The taught inaddition a special manImam Ali (AS) all theknowledge. Further allknowledge was collectedin a manifest Imam. TheRooh which is with theImam also knows allthings. Therefore theImam knows all things,thus if you were to writea letter to our 12th Imamhe is aware of this

    areeza.

    The ArizaIn the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful.Ihave written to you O my Master,may His mercy andblessing be on you, seeking a favour from you. I have

    complained to you for what has happened to meseeking solutions firstly from Allah and then from youfor a matter that has obsessed me. I am helpless incombating the problem and for that I have resorted toseeking help from Allah and from you, knowing thestatus you have with Allah. I am confident that you willhelp me get the solution to my problems swiftly andthat you will intercede on my behalf. I am helplessand moreover I am sinful, so help O my Master andpresent this problem to Allah and I pray to Him thatHe will solve this quickly and grant me victory andsuccess in finding the solution to my problems.

    I am not able to carry or bear with it. Although I amresponsible for the increase of my sins and ignorant

    about my responsibilities (Wajibats) from Allah whichare given to me. So help me O my Master peace beupon you.During this time of problems and sorrowpresent my prayers to Allah before I compensate andbefore my enemies engulfs me, for you have shownme your blessings. So I pray to Allah for greatsalvation and near victory with calmness from allfears. For Allah is most high and does what he wants.Allah is sufficient for me from the beginning and in myhopes. Whatever Allah wishes there is neitherstrength nor any power except in Allah the high, thegreat.

    [When dropping the Ariza in the sea, we normallyrecite the following addressing Husain Bin Rawh, the3rd Naeb] of the 12th Imam]

    O Husain Bin Rawh, Salamun Alaikum. I bear witnessthat you died in the path of Allah and (hence) you arealive and are sustained by Allah. I am addressing youin your life which you lead with Allah this is mynote and wishes to the Master of the Era (the 12thImam) (a.s), so please hand it over to him for you areindeed trustworthy.
