PROMOTIONRIGHT FRAME
Right Frame is a one-stop
shop for allyour door,
window andconservatory
needs.
In the winter months, we tend to neglect our traditionalconservatories as they become far too cold to sit in.Likewise, the last thing were thinking about is installing orthrowing open our existing patio doors.
But what if you could enjoy a cosy conservatory all yearround? Right Frame in Beighton can add features to improveyour existing conservatory or transform your home with a newhigh quality conservatory, built to last.
Skypod and lantern skylights can be applied to flat roofs tokeep in heat, whilst filling your room with gorgeous sunlight.Every project Right Frame undertakes is bespoke, so you canchoose from a number of conservatory features, includingEquinox Tiled Roofs and a variety of UPVC windows such asVelux.
All of Right Frames windows, doors and conservatory partsare supplied by Eurocell, the UKs leading distributor, andbecause they are all manufactured to a high standard by RightFrame, you can be sure you are getting the best parts for thejob.
Though Right Frame is a relatively new business, ownerRobert Dawson has nearly 30 years of experience in trade andconsultancy. After years of working for large companies, Robert
became sick and tired of using inferior materials, so decided totake control by setting up his own business, Job Well Done.
In September 2015, Job Well Done joined forces withRoberts new manufacturing business Right Frame, to provideeverything from the design consultation, right up tocompletion.
We take pride in whatwe do, says Robert. Thereare no sales people and Imhappy to come out to talkover the designs withclients. Every quote isindividual and theres nopressure.
We promise an honestreliable and affordable priceand to get it right first time, every time. We wont leaveuntil the job is completed tothe highest standard.
Right Frame is a one-stopfor both retail and tradecustomers, offering all theparts and products youneed including silicon, handtools, gutters and frames.

I have been keeping a close eye on the property marketthis year but there doesnt seem to be many propertiesfor sale at the moment. Will it pick up soon?
You will be pleased to hear the answer is yes, we are alreadyseeing signs of the property market picking up as springtakes hold. Winter is usually a slow time as Christmas takes priority in
household budgets and people spend the first couple of monthsin the new year paying off festive debts.
But with the blue skies and lighter nights of spring comes areinvigoration of the property market and that is good news forboth buyers and vendors.
One of the most striking effects of the change in seasons is howa property looks in natural light. After-work viewings no longersee potential viewers stepping in to the back garden with a torchor having to just imagine the vendors description of how the late-afternoon light floods into the conservatory.
Houses are literally seen in a different light in the spring andthis can make a huge difference to someones opinion of aproperty. This positive perception may even encourage buyers toconsider making a higher offer.
Outside spaces really come into their own during the warmermonths, and vendors can use this to their advantage when tryingto sell. A carefully-positioned barbecue in a well-maintainedgarden can conjure up lovely summery images in a buyers mind. Its about using all the tools available and really pushing thehomes plus-points.
A few vases of fresh-cut flowers can also work wonders for apropertys appeal by bringing an extra touch of spring inside.
So if youre thinking of buying or selling this spring, take a freshlook at the market. I think youll be pleased with what you find.

PROMOTIONNEWFIELDS LEARNING AND RESOURCE CENTRE
Newfields is helpingthe disabled achieveindependence andbe the best that theycan possibly be.
Remember how proud you were the firsttime you cooked yourself a meal, orhow independent you felt when youstarted your first job?
As time goes by and these tasks becomethe norm, we start to take them for granted, but the skills we develop in early adulthoodare important and stay with us for life.
The team at Newfields Learning and Resource Centre inEckington believes that people with disabilities should beoffered the same chances to progress in life as those without.
Mandy Billiard opened the centre in October 2011, afternoticing a lack of support centres in the area. Mandy harnessedher years of experience in the supported and residential careindustry and her knowledge of social enterprises to create apositive environment where adults with physical and mentaldisabilities can develop the skills they need to live moreindependent and enjoyable lives.
It is now jointly managed by Julie Dean, a qualified nursewho has worked for the NHS and in the healthcare industrysince 1978 and Jill Leeson, who has been a team leader andmanager in the industry for over 20 years.
The centre caters for all ages and all disabilities from 18-year-old school leavers, to adults in their 60s. Newfields recognisesthat every individual has their own strengths, weaknesses, hopes and goals, so progression can mean different things fordifferent people.
Our job is to help each person explore every avenue opento them, says Julie. Above all, learning should be fun! TheDisability Partnership keep us informed of whats going on inChesterfield and Sheffield so we can engage with the wider, external community too.
The centre concentrates on developing a number ofeveryday skills under one roof including health and safety, healthy eating, personal care, independent living and shopping,as well as more academic skills such as maths, English, computing, and creative skills such as arts and crafts, gardening, woodwork, sports and dance.
Activity Sheffield has been associated with Newfields for thepast two years and often invites professionals from Sheffieldand Chesterfield to support health and wellbeing. This includesspeech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapysupport. They also have good relationships with ChesterfieldCollege, Talbot School and Sheffield Hallam University.
The team is currently focussing on employment and isencouraging their visitors to take up work experience in thelocal community and have already successfully arrangedcleaning placements at the Truly Scrumptious caf in Eckingtonand Christ Church on Hollinsend Road in Gleadless.
Other areas of work include gardening for various employers
and glass collectingwork at local pubs.
As well as giving themthe confidence to gointo the world of work,Julie, Jill and the teamare keen to seetheir visitors relax, socialise and havefun with internalactivities such astheir Lotto-fundedball pool and spa,and externalactivities such asbowling and ice-skating.
None of these wouldbe possible without thegenerosity of others andsome brave members ofstaff at Newfield arecurrently preparing for asky dive fundraiser.
Newfields caters for allbackgrounds andcultural diversity is animportant aspect of theirvisitors educationalexperience. They enjoylearning about othercultures with the centres themed weeks (Italian week, Chinese weeketc) and celebrate a number of different religious holidays.
The best way to find out about what Newfields has to offer isto experience it for yourself.

IMAGEEATING OUT
As many unhappy travellers have discovered, finding a drive-through restaurant that serves up delicious and nutritious foodis about as rare as hens teeth. But now we have Cluck, offering family-friendly favourite chicken dishes plus a little bit extra.
Located next to the Travel Lodge on Sheffield Parkway drive-through, bar and restaurant opened on the former site of Little Cheflast July, and owner Simon Beattie has transformed the derelictbuilding into a welcoming, stylish space offering proper home-cooked food at reasonable prices.
On this occasion, we were eating in, and our server ClucketeerGarreth Medlock was friendly and helpful throughout. Our visit
coincided with the launch oftheir new menu, whichincludes all of the oldfavourites including Cluckcurry, chicken with baconsteak and cheese and rotisseriechicken, plus the addition ofburgers, a pie of the day,Cajun chicken burrito, and ribs.
I decided to try out the ribs, which came beautifully presented and I was delighted to find were especially meaty. As a born andbred Sheffielder, my companion couldnt resist the Hendersonswings, which are marinated in Clucks own special recipe. Fivesucculent wings came served with a fresh side salad and a barbequedip, and were both succulent and deliciously crisp.
With starters cleared, it was time for mains: a show-stoppingburger and one of their most popular dishes, chicken with baconsteak and cheese. I always love a meal where you get a sword withit, my companion laughed, as Garreth presented him with a double-stacked chicken burger speared by a huge wooden-handled knife.
Accompanied by onions rings, coleslaw, relish and properhomemade chips, this was exactly the feast my companion hadhoped for. All of Clucks mains come with an unlimited side dish so dont be afraid to ask for a top up and, if you dont fancy therecommended option, they are always happy to switch it for another.Being conscious of leaving enough room for dessert, I swapped ajacket potato for salad tocomplement my butterfliedchicken with bacon andmelted cheese, whichproved to be a real hearty treat.
A ginger cheesecake anda warm chocolate cake withice cream provided theperfect ending to ourafternoon indulgence andwe left blissfully satisfied.
Whether its a relaxedbreakfast, lunch or dinner inthe restaurant, or a quick biteon the go from the drive-through, at Cluck you areguaranteed something that isfresh, delicious andhomemade. And, the drive-through is even licenced tosell alcohol, so instead ofmaking several stop offs togather everything for theperfect night in, at Cluck youwill find everything all underone roof.

THE BENEFITS OF BUYING LOCALQuality over convenience seems to be the order of the day as manyof us are shunning supermarkets in favour of local producers.Words: Frances Cawthorne
Once upon a time, everyone went to thesupermarket to buy their groceries andnever gave a thought towards localproduce. No-one would be seen to besearching the labels of their fillet steak andpondering on the question where did thisactually come from? Yet, a growingconsciousness towards the source of our foodhas led to the rise of farm shops, and areappraisal of the importance of butchers andfishmongers in our communities.
After all, lets be honest, everyone wouldrather cook and eat food that has beengrown and reared in farms that may well bein sight of your home, than a product thathas travelled thousands of miles to get toyou.
It always feels special when restaurantsstrive to include local produce on theirmenus, as you are not only eating somethingthat is fresh and healthy, but you also knowthat the plate of food in front of you is givingsomething back to the community. And ofcourse, if its from Yorkshire, its bound totaste better. However, patriotism aside, theretruly are benefits to the flavour of food whenit comes from close to home.
When vegetables are plucked from thebest soil and picked from the vine at theirpeak ripeness, they are bursting full ofnutrients and flavour; the delivery time fromgrowing to selling is virtually nonexistent, andthey are available to buy within days or evenhours at your local shops. The only way toeat any fresher is by getting down and dirtyand growing your own.
As small local food businesses are notcommitted to mass production, this allows for
more quality control and perhaps even somevariety in size and shape. Those lovinglygrown tomatoes and onions may not be theright shape to comply with genericsupermarket packaging but they will be trulydelicious.
Were always being told to go green andconsider the environment in everything wedo, and buying local is a perfect way to doyour bit for the ozone layer. Not only doesthe reduction in delivery time lead to fewercarbon emissions, but the small scale growersand producers within our community alsotend to be more environmentally friendly byrejecting the supermarket methods creating agreater quantity rather than quality offood.
As small-scale producers do not need togrow food intensely, artificial fertilisers andchemicals can be kept to a minimum. It isreassuring to know that meat and dairyproducts have been produced from animalstocks which have been treated with theutmost respect for animal welfare.
And everyone would prefer a cut of lambthat has been carefully hand-cut locally, asopposed to machine-cut in a factory far away.
More and more people are looking tosupport the local economies within theircommunity, and are willing to pay more forfresh high quality products in order to do so.
From brilliant butchers to fabulous farmshops, there are plenty of local suppliers thatprovide fresh, high quality products right onyour doorstep, how perfect is that? So treatyour tastebuds as well as your localcommunity and go local by purchasing foodwith a purpose.

FEATURESITWELL ARMS
When Jo-Anne Oldfield was comingto terms with the death of herbaby son Mac following apremature birth, she was determined thatsomething positive must emerge to helpher cope with the grief.
That was when Jo-Anne, managingdirector of the Sitwell Arms, began fundraising for the Neonatal Unit atChesterfield Royal Hospital, and her effortshave helped to raise 18,500 so far.
Mac was born on 18 September, 2013and sadly passed away on 3rd October. Three months later Jo-Anne began her charity campaign and has never stopped.
Jo-Anne said: Mac was born prematurely at just 25 weeksand lived for a precious 17 days. With all the odds against usboth, the neonatal unit did an amazing job to safely bring Macinto the world, while the intensive treatment unit cared for me.Unfortunately Mac later caught an infection that ended hisshort life.
I fundraise for various different reasons, and I really want tohelp other families that are forced into circumstances similar toours to hopefully have a brighter outcome, and give theirvulnerable baby the best chance possible.
Sharing my story and talking about Mac not only helps meto deal with his loss, but it also helps reach out to other peoplewho have struggled to come to terms with losing a child.
Jo-Anne has set herself the task of raising 50,000 and saysthe support she receives from family, friends and workcolleagues makes the challenge even more rewarding, and attimes even overwhelming.
She added: I believethat we have to focuson the positives that arecreated through anegative and I canhonestly say that thiswhole experience hasbrought us closertogether as a family. Ihave also met someamazing NHS medicalstaff who often do anunappreciated, verychallenging job.
One in particularwho I have gained as afriend for life is Anahi Wheeldon-Lopez (pictured). Anahi wasthe midwife for both my difficult pregnancies and continues tosupport me professionally and personally; I cannot thank herenough.

IMAGETRAVEL
Lizzie Murphyexperiences the rich variety of life in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica.
Flying through the forest canopy nearly1500m above the ground, this felt like achallenge that would even make BearGrylls think twice. Well, almost. The fact that Ihad been kitted out with a harness, a helmet andwas accompanied by a team of safety-consciousguides may detract slightly from the TrueSurvivor element of Costa Ricas Ecoglide zip-wire experience. In fact, it was the perfectintroduction for two adrenaline rookies such asmyself and my traveling companion, my dear olddad.
Costa Rica is a land rich in experiences. Aparadise for thrill-seekers and nature-loversalike, the country attracts over 2.5milliontourists annually. Almost half of these visitorsare seeking to explore the expansive naturalbeauty of the country, which is estimated tocontain 5 per cent of the worlds biodiversity.
As both a biologist and lover of all thingsAttenborough, I leapt at the opportunity todiscover this treasure trove of tropical life. I wascertainly not disappointed by the gems weuncovered.
Some of Costa Ricas richest life is found onland, in the rainforests of the northernhighlands. A varied selection of mammals livehere, from the heavily armoured armadillo to thewide-eyed kinkajou.
The star of the show is without a doubtthe sloth, the worlds slowest mammal.Sleeping for between 15-20 hours a day, this animal moves so slowly its fur providesthe perfect habitat for moths, beetles andcockroaches. We were lucky enough tospot one of these weird yet wonderfulcreatures during a night walk in the cloudforest of Monteverde. Hanging from athin, trailing vine a mere three feet aboveus, it swung itself delicately upwards insearch of some evening grub.
It was not just this mysterious mammalthat our tour guide, Elbert, was keen forus to witness. Once we were fullyequipped, torches in hand, he led us

through the forest in search of a variety of nocturnal critters. Elbert had his walkie-talkieat the ready, communicating with other nearby guides to ensure we saw the finest ofwhat the forest had to offer under the veil of darkness.
Elbert pointed through trees and branches to show us a side-striped palm viper, poised and ready for ambush. He shone his light into a small burrow between thick, knotted tree roots to show us a female orange-kneed tarantula. Leaves came alive, suddenly revealing themselves to be expertly camouflaged katydid crickets. He was soenthused to show us the forest at night our pace quickened until we were leaping overdead wood and hurling ourselves over fallenbranches in true Indiana Jones-style,desperate not to miss out.
Our explorations of Costa Ricas naturalwonders however, were not restricted to land.Never one to pass up the chance to divebeneath the waves, I spent one morningscuba diving off the north Pacific coast, around the Catalina Islands. On the boat rideto the islands a pod of dolphins joined us,breaking the waters surface with theirarching bodies. The diving itself uncoveredmoray eels with needle teeth, scorpion fishnestled into the sand and a shiny, silvertrumpetfish, proudly hovering above thesand.
The final dive of the morning was certainlyone to be remembered. While movingthrough narrow channel between two rockswe came across three sharks drifting lazily

along the seabed. Smaller, and thankfullyless vicious, than Hollywoods infamous Jaws, the white-tipped reef sharks paid us diverslittle attention. These were silent, gracefulcreatures, their sleek bodies moving in gentlecurls with the current. Our breathingremained steady and slow, respectful of thefact that we were merely visitors to theiraquatic kingdom. Eventually our air suppliesindicated it was time for us to leave so weheaded back to the surface, all limbs intact.
A trip to Costa Rica wouldnt be completewithout a visit to one of its prime surflocations and the choice is vast. The northernPacific coastline is a haven to backpackersand beach bums, all in search of the perfectwave. We chose to spend the final few daysof our Central American adventure atTamarindo Bay, one of the most famous surfresorts in the country. Being a completenovice to the sport, I spent an intense twohours inhaling seawater as I threw myself offthe board in a frenzy of flailing limbs. Suchan exhausting effort finally paid off and Ifinally managed to ride a wave, albeit on anover-sized foam beginners board.
Costa Rica is so much more than a holidaydestination; its a country of adrenaline andadventure. Its the perfect place for thosewho are looking for something with a bitmore bite than just sun, sea and sandperhaps with the help of a shark or two.

Car-lovers rejoice! The Sheffield Motor Show is back for a thirdyear running and, with at least eight local dealers showcasingcars from 27 different manufacturers, it is set to be the best yet. This year, the show takes place on 4 and 5 June and over 65
new cars will be displayed at The Peace Gardens, at the front of theTown Hall and on the boulevard onPinstone Street. The show is a rareopportunity for local dealers toshowcase cars in the city centre and, foranyone in search of a new car, it offersthe chance to view all the newestmodels in one place.
Dealers and manufacturers alreadyon the list include Burrows with Toyota,Europa with Subaru, Robins and Daywith Peugeot, Pentagon Group withVauxhall and Jeep, JCT with Porsche,VW Commercial, VW, Audi, Fiat, and
Mercedes, Lookers with Ford, Bristol Street Motors with Volvo andEvans Halshaw with Renault but organiser Roger Hart ofSheffield Vulcan Rotary Club says there is still room for another 15cars.
We would love to fill the space. With The Peace Gardens thereare fantastic photo opportunities fordealers to have their cars on show inSheffield city centre with the Town Halland the fountains. The council haveeven offered to allow us to colour thefountains, so they will be in blue tomatch our rotary colours.
The Lord Mayor will attend on theSaturday to present certificates to all ofthe dealers and, as well as the manycars on display, there will also be familyentertainment including a stilt walker, balloon modelling and face painting for

Roger, who has always had a passion forcars says: Its not very often that you getan opportunity for rotary to show itself insuch a big way. We are hoping this yearthat we shall have brand new models thatmight not have been seen before. One islikely to be a Ford and there is a chance wewill get a brand new Volkswagen Tiguan atthe show, but until that car arrives inSheffield we wont know.
Last year proved to be a huge successand funds raised from the show weredivided between eight charities, includingthe rotary clubs own charity fund, which isused as a reserve to help people in need. Most recently, the club sent funds to arotary club in Cumbria to help with theflooding crisis. They also help those ininternational disaster zones including theNepal earthquake by buying andsending ShelterBoxes, which contain emergency aid such as tentsand mosquito nets.
The rest of last years money, 400, was donated to localSheffield charities including Sheffield Helipad Appeal, CavendishCancer Care, and the Research and Medical Treatment Lounge atSheffield Childrens Hospital.
The rotary club has a speakereach week, so people come andgive us a talk about their work andwe consider if they are eligible for afund or a donation, Rogerexplains. Sometimes we will givethem 50, it might be 100, but ifwe see a specific thing for them orthey can say: that 400 will comein really handy for something, we
specifically apply it. The medical andresearch treatment lounge, forexample, wanted some DVD playersbecause they have children from two to16 years old, and some can bring intheir own iPads, but others cant affordthem, so they wanted somereplacement DVDs.
This year, one of the chosen charitiesis Roundabout, which helps young people who have lost contactwith home and are trying to find their way in life.
