PROJECT SYMPOSIUM 2014

Cal Poly Pomona’s Engineering Project Symposium showcases the results of individual and team-based efforts to solve multidisciplinary technical challenges. For our fourteenth annual Symposium, approximately 500

undergraduate and graduate students will present projects and exhibits in more than 20 simultaneous sessions.

Consistent with the Cal Poly Pomona Learn by Doing philosophy, faculty-mentored projects have been undertaken by students and student teams from our engineering departments: Aerospace, Chemical & Materials, Civil, Electrical & Computer, Industrial & Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Engineering Technology. Some projects are interdisciplinary, requiring participation by students across the college and the university. Many projects are sponsored and guided by industry. Projects require planning and most often use a research, prototype, test and document strategy. The pedagogical model is greatly enhanced by an opportunity to summarize a project in a public forum.
