What’s the advantage
• The advantages of illegal immigration are that: – The immigrants can be hired for cheap labor– They keep jobs for law enforcement– Finally it keeps us from doing poor jobs
What’s the disadvantage
• Unfortunately there are problems with illegal immigration: – First, they might have a connection with drug
cartels– Second, the 2nd generation of children will be
marked as illegal aliens– Finally, several U.S. citizens claim that it is unfair.
Where do they come from
• When most people think of illegal immigrants they think of Mexico and central America.
• However there are also other illegal immigrants from all over the world.
• IE : Illegal Immigrants from Ireland, Italy, Germany and Cuba.
What can we do?...
• Six years ago, the government along with a group of farmers signed the AgJobs bill
• This bill stated that some 800000 undocumented immigrants who were already in the United States would have to register and pay a $400 fine to require for citizenship, plus 3-5 years on agricultural jobs would make them applicable for a Visa and a Green Card.
Where did the info come from?...
• There is a slight problem with scholarly and unscholarly sources.
• Unscholarly sources include sites like Wikipedia, because anybody can edit it.
• Either way it is clear to say that unscholarly sources are clearly bias
Scholarly Sources
• Scholarly sources provide you with an unbiased reliable source of information.
• Some scholarly sources one would consider are News websites or library articles that are online.
• Look for sites that primarily end in .edu for library articles or .com for news websites.
What’s the difference between Biased and unbiased
• When an statement is considered biased, it is stating an opinion of something
• When a statement is unbiased, then that means that the statement is a fact.
• You typically want to read from the unbiased sources. Otherwise it would be considered unscholarly and typically not the best of information.
Citing your sources
• Citing your sources is crucial to your MLA format
• You must state your own ideas or you will be caught for plagiarism.
• Here in college, being caught for plagiarism can lead to academic dishonesty which includes failing, the case goes on your permanent record, suspension and expulsion from the University.
Online sources
• Online sources are one of the best ways to get information. In particular, news websites or library websites.
