1. Il mio martir tengo celate-al cuore. My martyrdom keep hidden in heart I hide my torment in my heart. Se lo dimostre ohime puoco mi giova. If I demonstrate, oh my, little I gain/profit. If I show my pain, alas, I gain little. Nessun credo il mio mal se non che il prova. None you believes my pain if not the test/proof. None will believe my pain if not for this test. 2. Tutto ne causa questo iniquo Amore. All is causing this iniquity love. All of this is causing unjust love. Che in hora e in ponto il mio martir rinova. That in time and in brider my martyrdom renovates. This bridges the time and renews my martyrdom. 3. Dalla mia bocca nasce un vivo ardore From my mouth comes a living ardor/passion E questo afflitto cor pietá non trova Nessun crede And this afflicted heart mercy will not find none believe 4. Dunque se il mio martir nessun lo crede So if my martyrdom no one believes/credits Io son ferito ahi lasso e non si vede. I am hurt, alas, and not seen. Alas, you do not see my pain.
