1981 El.En., acronym of Electronic Engineering, is established inFlorence (Italy). It has as its object the design, manufacturingand sale of electronic and mechanical equipment for industrialand research applications.

El.En. enters into its first cooperation agreements with ItalianResearch Institutes (University of Florence, CNR and ENEA),for the development of switching high voltage power supplies tobe used in experimental set-ups.

Development of the first CO2 laser sources, as well as ofswitching mode power supplies for lasers.

El.En. designs and manufactures the first kits for therapeuticlasers.

Kits are sold to manufacturers of biomedical systems forphysiotherapy applications.

Laser medical applicationsMAIN APPLICATIONS

Dentistry: little amount of anaesthetic, no drill noise and vibration foradvanced therapeutic solutions to maximize clinical advantage withoptimal post-operative prognoses and results

Surgery and plastic surgery: laser is a sterilized bistoury, lasersears so the healing is rapid with an aesthetic perfect result, thedevelopment of laser technology and the ever-increasingunderstanding of laser-tissue interaction has led to widespread useof lasers in the operating room

Sport medicine: in functional re-education and sports relatedindications optimizing performance and recovery time of muscularfunctions, salutary biostimulation without secondary effects

Laser medical applicationsMAIN APPLICATIONS

Aesthetic medicine and surgery: selective interaction for hairremoval with, controlled laser energy delivery: body care, skinrejuvenation, tattoo removal, angioma removal

Gynaecology: no-contact operations in laparoscopic andcolposcopic surgery ensuring rapid post-operative recovery

Endoscopic surgery: laser energy, transported through very thinand flexible optical fibers, allows for inducing controlled and localizedhyperthermia in less accessible areas

ENT surgery: for the micro-surgical endoscopic treatment of severallaringeal and ear pathologies (myringotomia-otosclerosis)
