. In a 1994 article in the American Prospect, Paul Starr referred to ____'s "hidden curriculum." X was born and raised in North Highlands, California, to a working class family. Her mother worked for the state of California and her father is a Greek American mechanic. Her parents divorced when she was 5 and subsequently she was raised by her mother, who remarried in 2000. She's stated that while her parents do not like everything she does, they get along.

X attended four high schools, among them Highlands High, before graduating, having been unhappy in each one, though she graduated a year early at 17. she attended junior college and took classes in film, dance, and acting.

The common Basilisk is a lizard found in Central &South American rain forests.

lizard for the for its ability to run on water when threatened. This spectacle can be readily witnessed; of all large lizards in Costa Rica, this species is the most commonly encountered, especially along streams and lakes. It is more numerous in the dry northwestern region of the country. Adults often bask in daylight near water when they are not foraging or resting. At night they sleep on perches close to the ground or as high as 20 m.

When startled, the Common Basilisk escapes by speeding to the nearest edge of water—and continues sprinting. The lizard runs on only its hind legs in an erect position, holding its arms to its sides.

During the reign of Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603), there was constant rivalry between Spain and England culminating in the launch of the Spanish Armada in 1588. The Spanish Armada consisted of many Spanish galleons and was sent to invade England. The Armada was led by Duke of Medina Sedonia and the fleet numbered over 130 ships. The English fleet, under Admiral Lord Howard, totalled 34 small Navy vessels and 163 armed merchant ships. But the Spanish Armada was defeated. Only 65 Spanish galleons and just 10,000 men returned to Spain. The attempt failed, not only because of the swift nature of the smaller English ships but also by the stormy weather which scattered the Armada fleet. This is usually considered to be the story behind something which is pretty common today.
